"Yours, huh?"
Khari nodded with a very self confident expression worn upon her face, "Oh yes." she kissed him quickly, softly on the lips, "At least out in the public eye...weather or not that extends to elsewhere, that's up to you."
But just as he was, she was conscious of the fact they weren't exactly alone, though the notion that this was anything other than normal to her didn't seem to cross her mind nor bother her in the slightest. As her telbun, the other man had seen her exercise far worse infront of him and he hadn't batted an eyelid, nor indeed had others around him, at least on her homeworld, elsewhere he had been the subject of curiosity and misunderstanding. And that, at least, couldn't have been easy.
It was Tress' apparent surprise at how freely he had spoken that piqued her curiosity the most, the fact that somehow the man clearly thought her former telbun couldn't speak unless spoken to tickled her slightly.
"Don't look so surprised, he has his vocal moments...believe me, I remember those most of all."
Now that did make him cough, rather overtly too, the sudden flushed nature of his face showing through most prominently at that overt admission, clearly he hadn't been expecting that, but that was precisely what Khari was like. And that was what motivated him to add something too.
"Not while you were...never then. You'll uhh, get used to that, too." He admonished awkwardly, and Khari shot him a rather incredulous glance.
"I have no idea what you mean by that statement..." She then turned her attention back to Tress, "...Are you ready to leave yet?"

Khari nodded with a very self confident expression worn upon her face, "Oh yes." she kissed him quickly, softly on the lips, "At least out in the public eye...weather or not that extends to elsewhere, that's up to you."
He beamed at that, before she kissed him again. He would let her guess as to what his answer would be, though she already knew his thoughts on the matter. That all changed when he heard what she had to say next. He chose to read between the lines of her comment.
"Don't look so surprised, he has his vocal moments...believe me, I remember those most of all."
That caused Tress to stop and tilt his head and look at her, then turned jealous eyes on the telbun that was now his brother.
"Not while you were...never then. You'll uhh, get used to that, too." the former telbun said
"I have no idea what you mean by that statement..." She then turned her attention back to Tress, "...Are you ready to leave yet?"
Turning to stare at Khari he glares in the beginnings of a jealous rage, then at the telbun. "Brother, there are some clothes for you to wear in my room....that way. Go change there is only one telbun in this family now." He points in the direction of his room. "I need you gone while i....chastise Khari."
Looking back at Khari, he steps close to her, his hands coming to rest on her hips. "That is one mark against you....remember there will be equal measure for everything you do to rattle my cage....." He pulls her swiftly against him. "And it will go twice as bad if you do it a purpose....."

Ever the stirrer, she was content to smirk satisfied with her work as her old telbun cast a wary gaze between herself and Tress, nodding in more agreement than she had ever seen him use before now - and probably rightly so, there was no way he was getting caught up in the middle of this.
But before he departed, he paused, turning ever so slightly to pivot back on one foot, "By the way, my name...Khari never mentioned it, it's Taru."
The Kuati woman remained silent, but nodded in the affirmative, her gaze, however, was still fixed on Tress and the broiling rage he seemed to be doing very little to hide. And yet he managed to conceal much perfectly, not bad for someone who'd been learning all of five minutes, she thought. But all that smugness would come to an end the moment she felt and saw him act. But that wasn't a negative thing in her books, oh no, that just meant game on.
"I need you gone while i....chastise Khari."
Now that made her arch a manicured brow slowly, canting her head slightly to one side in curiosity - she didn't need to say a word, her face said evertything for her 'Oh, is that so?'
And when he pulled her sharply against him, she wasn't about to simply back down and be the good little one he seemed to expect she would be at the sound of idle threats. However much he intented to go through with them, she was always confident she could turn the situation around again and make him curse himself silently. Though, just like her, she highly suspected he rather liked it. The pair of them were easily rattled if you knew the means, and they were learning by the second.
"you....remember there will be equal measure for everything you do to rattle my cage....." He was uttering, in that low, strangely seductively ominous way he did when he wanted her to listen intently. Who was she to argue with that? "And it will go twice as bad if you do it a purpose....."
Raising one hand, she extended an indexfinger and lightly poked him in the chest, dead center, just firm enough to press her proverbial point, but not so as to imply she was angered by what he had done. That couldn't be further from the truth. Not that he would have felt much through those oppresive meters of cloth.
"Is that a threat, or a promise?" She asked silkily, her fingertips dancing lightly over his chest, slipping beneath the robe that he wore to do so. "Because you'd better make good of it before we step outside this shuttle, once out there, i'd love to see you try."
An almost darkly, knowing chuckle escaped her, even as she attempted to slip from his grasp. "You might even succeed, for a while...a very, very short while."

But before he departed, he paused, turning ever so slightly to pivot back on one foot, "By the way, my name...Khari never mentioned it, it's Taru."
Tress looks over at Taru and nods. "Taru it is then...remember you are now of the Odak-Zann family. Though you might want to drop the Zann part on this world." He smirks some of his jealousy leaving his thoughts.
He turns back only to feel her finger poking him dead center on his chest. Looking down at the finger then up at the beautiful woman it belonged to, he glares again.
"Its what ever you want to take it as, Mistress." He mocks her, a little to smug for her tastes, while something of a plan having formed in his head. Smiling mischievously, "There, here, it makes no difference....its just how much of a show you want others to see." He leaves that threat hanging as he walks away.
Stopping he looks over his shoulder. "Oh, and Khari.....i got you punishment planned out already." Winking at her he faces forward and fixes his hat and robes, getting into character. "Ready when you are.....Highassness" The way he said it made it sound like highness, but if you heard it right you would know it for what it was...a high form of mockery.

It was obvious just from his tones that he was mocking her, all too obvious in fact, and the way in which he had uttered his retorts left little doubt in Khari's mind as to weather or not he'd actually take a few liberties whilst they were out and about. Though really, what did she expect? A man like Tress didn't bow to anyone, he was too arrogant for that, it was in his blood...rather like it was in her own.
Not that she would have ever admitted it as such.
"There, here, it makes no difference....its just how much of a show you want others to see."
Oh, so that was his game? And she couldn't do anything but bristle against it, hating herself for visibly drawing herself up haughtily, a physical response that was almost automated to her, before she could prevent him from seeing it, the outrage glimmering in her eyes apparent even before her gaze followed him as he began to walk away.
"Hold it right there a minute!" She squeaked rather high pitched...surprised by just how high herself, but still holding her head high nevertheless, reaching out to grab him by one arm before his feet made contact with that landing ramp. "Me first...you second, my homeworld my rules...no questions unless we are behind closed doors...understood?"
Everything about the way she conducted herself at present said she was riled, much like she had done to him, except the way Khari acted, it was as if she was the one whom had had bestowed upon her a great injustice...and why shouldn't she? It was her right to, wasn't it?
"Ready when you are.....Highassness"
She had already begun to descend that landing ramp when the true levity of what he had said clicked with her mind's afterthoughts. Oh he was going to pay for that one, big time. He was going to rue the day he ever stepped this up a notch, that much she vowed. It was all she could do to stop herself from turning round and elbowing him for the trouble. But somehow, call it sheer force of will, she managed to keep her expression impassive, glancing sidelong at him as she took the lead, "Just you wait...first opportunity I get..."

"Me first...you second, my homeworld my rules...no questions unless we are behind closed doors...understood?"
Tress was in perfect character now, he had heard her squeak and made no move to laugh outwardly, but he was saving it for later even though he was laughing inside uncontrollably. Nodding his head, he says in a soft tone. "Yes, Mistress...."
As she began walking down the ramp, he heard her mutter under her breathe. "Just you wait...first opportunity I get..."
Now that she mentioned first opportunities, he smirked as he reached out and smacked her on her backside as she passed, "Never an opportunity wasted, i always say" He whispers so she hears him clearly. This was going to be fun and not that bad he thought as he followed her at a respectable distance. There but not there, she had said. His posture and mannerisms were kept low key, going to show he was a quick study.
He began wondering if she would get him back and how, that was the fun part for him in this case. The unknown danger, but for now he kept up the ruse as a telbun following his mistress.

It had been too much to ask that he would hold back from being his usual opportunistic self, lulling her into a false sense of security with his rather subservient words, perfectly in character, not a hair out of place on that resolve of his. Until, that was, she had walked past him.
The resounding 'smack!' to her rear was loud enough to echo in the immediate area of the hanger bay, but the yelped exclaimation that flew from her mouth was such that it drew the attention of several technicians working on a nearby shuttle that was in for some last minute checks before it's departure. All of whom looked around to see both she and Tress, herself still looking rather susprise stricken and then the perfectly well behaved Telbun some respectable distance behind her, acting as if nothing had happened at all.
It was pure quick thinking on her part that she had been reaching for the small slimline datapad she had sequestered in her outerrobe at the point Tress had managed to execute such a stealthy move. Khari letting it slip from her hand to clatter on the deck of the hanger bay a second later, looking behind herself as if to blame an access pannel out of place, anything that could have theoretically tripped her up and made her stagger those last few paces.
"Ugh...and just who is in charge of maintenance for this docking bay?" She demanded of the technicians imperiously, who all looked at eachother in quick succession. One of them volunteering an answer soon thereafter.
"Acting alpha foreman Yumeni Kaur, Lady Vestra."
Khari nodded curtly, "Get her down here, that access pannel needs affixing correctly, and I need a new datapad."
Holding herself aloft, she motioned back to Tress with the crook of a single finger, not even bothering to catch his gaze. "Pick that up would you?"
Tapping her foot as if she really didn't have all day, and with all the full irritation of one of her status, she waited to see if Tress would indeed do as she asked, or make a show of that as well. In either case, it was her intention to draw his gaze away from where she had carefully placed her other foot, just out of his line of sight so that when he stepped forth, he would trip.

That yelp alone was worth it, Tress thought silently as he played the role of Telbun. It was going to be hard, not speaking out or for that matter act as if he owned the place. So cutting out the swagger and his usually mannerisms, he kept to himself as others looked over at them. Emotion bland as an empty canvas and looking straight ahead.
"Ugh...and just who is in charge of maintenance for this docking bay?"
Her quick thinking, he said to himself, it was something he liked about her but this one was full of desperation it almost made him bark out a laugh. With all the things she could have said or done, that was the least likely he had thought she would have reached for. But for his part he played it to a tee, listening and waiting attentively. He guesses he should have helped her, run to her aide or something. Though this was to good not to witness.
Holding herself aloft, she motioned back to Tress with the crook of a single finger, not even bothering to catch his gaze. "Pick that up would you?"
"Yes, Mistress...." he answered as she tapped her foot and went to retrieve the thing, when he tripped on her other foot. Catching himself upright with the strut of the land ramp, he keeps his head down and still picks up the data pad for her. Turning to her there was mockery in his eyes and the promise of repayment. "Sorry Mistress here you go..." though he whispered only for her to hear. "I expected more from you, than a child's trick....Highassness"
Then goes back into his role of a quiet shadow of attentiveness.....

There was a certain satisfaction at watching him stumble forward, much as she had when he'd issued her that crack to the rear, from the way he had pitched forward ahead of her, to how he recovered with an agility of the likes that could have actually made him a real telbun. Khari didn't snicker, she didn't even crack a smile, instead she watched all as haughty and uncaring, though this was not the inward case, it would have been more obvious something was up if she had displayed some sort of emotion other than indifference.
When Tress picked up her dropped item, handing it back to her a little too mockingly, his expression said it all and she was wondering if she really should have insisted he wear the veil that many telbun were asked to don. At least then he wouldn't give himself away by the look in his eyes alone.
"One childish turn deserves begets another." She whispered back imperiously, the proud jut of her chin as much an act of snootiness as it was genuine gloating at the fact he'd fallen for it.
The damage to the datapad was the least of her concerns, she could get another within the hour if she so wished, it had been a poor excuse for her surprise of course, but she hadn't had too many resources at her disposal and it seemed like the best option at the time. Of course, blaming the foreman for the trip would be something another might expect, after all, it couldn't possibly be her fault.
Khari lead tress out of the docking bay and into the busy service corridors beyond, a plethora of workers and citizens both, going about their day to day affairs, paying the pair the occasional cursory glance, but her presence here wasn't exactly unusual, especially since managing to inherit the position she had. And as for that of her 'telbun', he was practically invisible out here among those who saw such people as a fixture and trapping of life.
Her destination, the private offices of KDY headquarters, lay a short distance from the port at which they had docked, closest to the construction docks, the offices were both stylish and practical, providing an expediently good view of all that was being constructed in the immediate vicinity, usually during the last stages of production, each completion requiring her say in it.
"The corporate sectors," Khari explained, casting her hand out in gesticulation to the immediate area "Almost entirely functional more so than stylistically adorned, we left that for the living quarters, but here is where I will be spending much of my time...when the Kuat family founded KDY along with the other elite members of the Ten, their technical minded bent dictated that they reside here, closest to the pinnacle of production in order to oversee the most crucial stages."
With a wry smile she added, "Technically minded they might have been, but they never considered the effects of turning that inventive streak to their own demise, their final heir single handedly destroyed the inherritance exemption, the one thing that had upheld their family's right to ownership of KDY, something nine ruling families had been attempting to execute for centuries." Khari nodded slightly in acknowledgement, perhaps sensing his curiosity...and then again maybe not. "Including my own, yes. "
And then they were there, the grandiose entrance to KDY's headquarters as it were, several toweringly ornate doors that were oddly in keeping with the functionality of the structure around it, with huge sweeping viewports that gave a spectacular view of the construction docks and the lush world they orbited. Without further ado, Khari waved Tress in, the doors opening momentarily after submitting her retinal scan.
"Feel honoured, few telbun have stood where you do now..." She mocked pleasantly enough, taking a perverse delight in knowing it would grate on his usually arrogant personality and politician's sensibilities. Politics was one thing she had never desired to go into herself, sadly business and politics seemed to go hand in hand on Kuat. She could forsee grating times ahead for herself too.
"How is that going, by the way? Are you having fun yet?" She turned to face him, tilting her head slightly to actually get a look at his handsome face and adopting an intrigued expression herself. Stepping close she observed with a critical eye, brushing against him but only scantly. "You look warm...perhaps I should do something about that?"
For a moment her eyes glazed over, seemed as distant as the thoughts she was having, drawing those ever closer in the darkness of her mind, finally finishing off that reverie with a telling smirk. Now that was a nice thought.
"Don't spend too long dwelling on that revenge of yours, it probably isn't doing your temperature any favours."

He followed dutifully as Telbuns were know to do, still plotting his revenge but quiet and obedient like a shadow trailing behind Khari. He listened as she spoke of the KDY offices and agreed it would be better for the ruling families to have offices and places to stay closer to their investments.
He wanted to ask questions, to learn more about what went on there. What she did there, but he did have a role to play so he played it. There were other people there but all he did was look forward and not show any interest other than if his mistress needs. He had needs to now that he thought of it, his eyes wondering Khari's form as she walked ahead of him when others weren't looking.
"Feel honoured, few telbun have stood where you do now..."
It seemed they had finally arrived at her office, when she waved him inside. Stepping inside he looked around shocked and amazed at what he saw. Wide view port stretching out allowing great views to be seen.
Revenge, yes he had that in mind and now that they were safely behind closed doors, he would gain a small amount of it now that he had the chance.
"Don't spend too long dwelling on that revenge of yours, it probably isn't doing your temperature any favours."
Stepping in close he backs her up against the doorway and studies her. "A spankings in order...." he tells her in a low voice. "Scream if you want, but it would be awkward people coming in and seeing a Telbun chastising his mistress....." Capturing her chin in between two fingers he tilts up her head and kisses her quickly, mocking her to work her up then walks away and sits on the edge of the desk. "You know the routine, remember back to that first time....."

He hadn't said much, that was her first thought, but then she didn't expect him to either. A real telbun wouldn't have done so until they were behind closed doors, and even then it would have been conditional. What she got when the doors closed was quite something else...and unequivically Tress.
Backed up against the unyeilding durasteel as she was, the coolness of the surface chilling her even through the robes she wore, his actions were enough to draw out a rather surprised expression from her. And she wasn't even sure what to say at first, all rational word escaped her. That was, until, he had uttered those words.
"A spankings in order...."
"Is that so? And I suppose that out there was just a warm up? No no no, I don't think so. If anyone desrves anything, it is you...who knows if those technicians saw anything, risks, Tress...we discussed this."
Discussed was such an ambiguous word, Khari knew, they had rather glossed over the issues, but she hadn't imagined Tress would be taking quite so many liberties with this little plan. But the look in his eyes was deadly serious as it was feral. And her inner maddam bristled at that, just as he knew she would.
"Scream if you want, but it would be awkward people coming in and seeing a Telbun chastising his mistress....."
Both her eyebrows rose at that, but she refrained from looking too surprised, this was him after all, inventive should have been his middle name. But then he was a Zann, wasn't he? Born opportunist. And she? Well, she was born to defy the opportunistic ones. So even as he caught ahold of her chin lightly, kissing her quickly for effect, she stared him down ruefully, defiantly silent for the time being, until he then swaggered his way towards the large antique desk the dominated the far end of the room, and sat himself upon it.
Khari, on the other hand, crossed her arms haughtily over her chest, holding herself tall and shook her head every bit as petulent as a spoiled child.
"Oh I remember last time, if that is what you are asking. But unlike then you don't have me at a disadvantage." She commented cooly, confidently, and very much staying put. He wasn't going to get anything that easily, not after that scene he'd caused in the hanger. "Make me."

"Is that so? And I suppose that out there was just a warm up? No no no, I don't think so. If anyone deserves anything, it is you...who knows if those technicians saw anything, risks, Tress...we discussed this."
She was chastising him, she was reaching for straws here. Oh, no...he would do what he had set out to do. He listened and shook his head. "You discussed that, not me....you tripped me!" He finishes still cant believe she had tried that. It made this a nessitiy...he liked that, it gave him a reason. Not that he needed one, cause truth be told he enjoyed this sort of thing, and if she was honest with herself she did too.
He saw it all as he looked at her, the defiance, the haunty demeanor of her up bringing. The pose of arms crossed over her chest as if a shield against him. The shaking of her head was what made him stand and walk toward her slowly. His eyes on hers looking deep into them, as well as remembering that first time.
"Oh I remember last time, if that is what you are asking. But unlike then you don't have me at a disadvantage."
"Don't I?" He asks as he stops in front of her. "I asked for you to come willingly....now its time to get drastic." Saying that he leans down and wraps one arm around the back of her legs and lifts her onto his shoulder. "Simpler would have been better, but the hard way is way much more fun when it comes to the both of us together......"
With one hand on her bottom holding her in place he might have took some liberties with her, but as he neared the desk he sat her down with a thump right on the ledge of the desk and leans down to look at her. "Now...do as your told....you know how its done...." and just as a after thought. "Don't make this into a scene....what i plan on doing is private, but will do it in front of others....."

Now he was manouvering again, and towards her too, perhaps she should have been thinking of diversionary tactics, perhaps a means to fend him off while she thought of something else, but did she actually want to do that? Khari clamped down on that thought the second it rose in her mind, this wasn't supposed to be fun it was a matter of making a point, standing her ground and that was exactly what she was going to-
"Tress! Put me down!"
-Until he picked her up. Unceremoniously thrown over one of his shoulders, she couldn't have looked more undignified if she had tried, and that only fuelled her outrage that bit more. A liberty too far perhaps.
"Put me down NOW!"
Struggling only seemed to give him an excuse to grip her that bit better and the last thing she wanted to do was a faceplant right into the office floor, so with a view to avoid that, she took to thumping him in the back with balled fists. It was very unlikely, however, that he'd feel much of that through all that cloth...oh why hadn't she thought of that when thinking up this idea?!
And oh the things that would happen if anyone had walked in on this, come to think of it, they were standing before the largest viewports that weren't attached to a star destroyer....what if someone, however slim the chance, saw this?!
"So help me Tress if you don't put me down, I am going to..."
He had sat down against the large desk, for a moment she had assumed he had actually listened to her, but that relief died in the cold darkness of her mind when she realized what he had sat upon and where they were now situated.
"Don't make this into a scene....what i plan on doing is private, but will do it in front of others....."
Oh the implications made her wither and melt inside with lust, just the sound of his voice had that effect on her alone, but backed up with actions was quite something else. Yet this was just the threat...or was it? He'd made good of that threat once before. But giving in was like letting him win, proving him right and she was never wrong.
"You wouldn't dare!....and would you at least turn the viewport tint on!" Ah, she hated how that last part sounded so mortified, "Let go...last chance!"

Much later:
Tress' words could never be cold comfort, and sadly it was times like this where she realized she could trust him implicitly. Up until now their relationship, if one could call it that, had been explosively fun, but she would never have reconned he would tell her what he had earlier, that he loved her, and now had some sort of admiration for her in the way she had handled herself here. She could have compliained of course, what had he expected, her to go to pieces at the sight of a broken nail? Khari might have laughed at that thought had the situation not been so dire, no, she admired him for having the courage and insight to help her out here, even if now it was something of a clean up job.
Now facing him she leaned in and placed a kiss on his forehead gently, next resting her own against his as she sighed in an effort to steady her nerves. She still hadn't dared look at the ruin of a man across the floor from them, and the secretary would ensure that no one else would be disturbing them.
"But now is not the time for those words....i want to get you out of here. Away from this mess while i clean what i can."
The kuati woman drew back slightly, dark eyes almost surprised by what she was seeing before her, but her incredulity was aimed at his words, not his actions.
"And risk letting you take the blame for this? Never. I have put you through enough. He has put us both through enough."
She shook her head slightly, barely noticably if it had not been for the way her raven locks swayed against her shoulders like liquid shadow. But she didn't let go of him, still unsure as to weather or not she would be able to stand of her own volition. She had done this, this was her problem to deal with best she could. This position hadn't been handed to her by inherritance alone, her resourcefulness had played a big part in how she delivered.
"It is possible my secretary heard that blaster shot, I could claim that this was merely self defence...no one need know what it was Taru was holding over us."
But if the secretary had heard, why had no security operatives shown up? There was still time of course, but it was unlikely. It hadn't been a particularly noisy shot either, yet it had done it's job when it hit it's mark alright.
"Or we stick to the original plan..." Khari conceeded, just wanting this to be all out of the way so she could go back to her life, a far more healthy one without Taru attempting to run the show.
The comm chimed again, making her start visibly in his arms, a flash of embarrassment flushed her complexion and she was quick to ignore that to save some of her own dignity. The last thing she wanted was Tress thinking she was not alright, irrispective of how true that might be. Shaken, she reminded herself carefully, but fine.
Expression apologetic, she pressed her lips to his softly, whispering her weakness rather than displaying it openly, he would have felt her tremble as the last measures of adrenaline drained from her saturated nervous system.
"I'm sorry...I should see what that is."
Slipping from his embrace, she leaned across the desk and thumbed the device back on again. The voice of her secretary intoned over the speakers, and for a tense moment, Khari anxiously thought she might have heard that shot after all. But this matter was another entirely.
"Lady Vestra, Port traffic control asked that I patch through a communication to you. There is a Kage Dooku wishing to speak with you. They inform that it is concerning the repairs of an entire fleet."
The Kuati raised a slender eyebrow in bemusement. Well, this explained why Traffic control had to forward this one to her, and they had impeccible timing as usual. Such is life, she reminded herself, there really was no rest for the wicked. Not that she had been wicked in what she had done here...she just needed to keep reminding herself of that fact.
Forlorn and pale, the artificial light of the office only making her appear more out of sorts than she already was, Khari glanced at Tress as if seeking his approval. Would his dirty work here be distracting?
"Patch it through to my personal comm, there are things I have to do on the move, thank you."
"Very well."
A crackle of impromptu static later, and the hazy transmission was put through to her handheld comlink.
"Greetings Kage Dooku, I am Lady Khari Vestra, I understand you wished to speak with me? A fleet...that is quite the tall order." She intoned, doing her best to sound as her normal self might encountering this odd request. She didn't usually speak with the customers direct unless there was need for it, and never had she spoken to those wishing to undergo repairs, she had staff for that. But something of this magnitude indeed required her attention and since they were playing at everything being completely as it should be, she kept half an eye on Tress for his silent input.
