The Apartment of Luke and Mara Jade Skywalker

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

Mara enters the kitchen and leans against the counter. "Trip was fine. Glad to be home, though. I can't planet hop like I used to."

Ben chooses that moment to dash into the kitchen wearing the fully-functional blue Mando helmet from Grainne. "Dad! Look what Grainne gave me!"

[Luke Skywalker]

"That's very cool Ben. You be sure to thank Grainne for it. That is a very special gift," says Luke. A worried look comes over Luke's face. "I hope I've made the right decision to allow this plan to move forward."

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

"Something has to be done, Luke. And Grainne understands the importance of trying to redeem before killing. Mara smiles at him. "I think it's a good plan. You worry too much, farmboy. It's a wonder you don't have a full head of gray hair."

[Luke Skywalker]

"You are right, of course," Luke smiles. "I guess we will leave it up to the will of the Force." Luke watches as Ben walks around with his blue Mando helmet on his head.

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

Mara gets word that an emergency signal has been received at the Temple communications room. She leaves the apartment to check it out.

[Luke Skywalker]

Luke leaves Ben with a nanny droid, and heads for the Temple. He is confident that Mara can handle the emergency, but is curious as to what it is.

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

Returning to the apartment after the emergency call from Tookie, Mara finds that Ben is still wide awake running around in his new helmet.

"You should be in bed." Mara says as she lifts the helmet from his head. "And where is Nanna?"

"But I'm not tired! And, um, Nanna's sleeping..." he looks down at his feet.

"You shut her off again, didn't you? Ben, we've been through this. Nanna can't protect you if you turn her off." She lifts his chin, forcing him to meet her gaze. "Promise me you won't do that again." She gives him her best "I mean it" look.

"Okay," he sighs. "I promise."

"Good. Now go get in bed."

Ben goes to bed and Mara places the helmet on a shelf in the living room. She checks the chrono, and not knowing when Luke will be back, scribbles a note on a piece of flimsi:

"New information has surfaced about Starkiller and Glow. She was pregnant when she left the Jedi. Due to a vision Jade had on Tatooine, it is believed that the child was a boy, and that Glow is still alive. That's basically it. Cait will update if they uncover any more details.

Good night, farmboy."

Mara leaves the note on the table and goes to sleep.

Luke finally makes it home, and sees the message from Mara. "Maybe SK can be turned back to the light with this information," he says. "I'll contact Grainne with the information."

Luke sends a message to Grainne:

Grainne,

New information has surfaced about Starkiller and Glow. She was pregnant when she left the Jedi. Due to a vision Master Jade Albright had on Tatooine, it is believed that the child was a boy, and that both he and Glow are still alive. Perhaps this information can be used to bring him back to the light.

Luke sends the message, and leans back in the chair.

Luke gets up out of the chair, grabs a quick shower, and leaves a note for Mara.

Red,

Gone to the office. Saw message about Jade and Tookie. Forwarded info to Grainne.

He heads towards his office.

A private encrypted message is sent to Luke's private comm.

Cait sends an encrypted message to Luke.

Luke this is Cait I'm on Obra-Skai and I'm about to leave for Dantooine to see what I can find out there.

I thought you might want to hear what I found regarding SK, Glow and their child from the medical archive here.

First off...I have confirmed there is a child. A son born to Glow Skirata approximately two years ago on Tantooine. His name is Tristan. The record also shows that Markon Starkiller is listed as the father. I have checked the DNA information from the three of them and it confirms it. Tristan Skirata is Glow and Markon's child.

I should be back in a couple of days. From Dantooine I'm going to Tantooine. Unless I find anything else I will then come back to Yavin IV. I will keep you updated on what I find. Cait out.

Luke enters the apartment and checks for messages. He receives Cait's message about SK, Glow, and Tristan. He heads to bed, but sleep is elusive.

He thinks about the new information, and how he can help SK and Glow come back to the light side. Eventually he drifts off into a fitful sleep.

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

Mara awakes early, feeling restless. She's feeling too relaxed and she doesn't like it; she is worried that if she is called to action, she won't be up to her normal abilities. Mara showers and dresses in a loose-fitting jumpsuit with her lightsaber attached to her belt.

She enters the bedroom from the 'fresher and attempts to rouse Luke by pushing on his shoulder. "Luke, I am going to workout in the combat arena." She leans over and kisses his forehead. "Want to come?" He mumbles something sleepily, and all Mara can understand is her name. She straightens up.

"Well I tried," she thinks to herself. "If he wants to he can join me later."

Grabbing her blaster on the way out, Mara leaves the apartment for the combat arena.

Luke dresses quickly and heads to the infirmary.

Luke slips in quietly. He gets ready for bed and slips between the covers. He is soon fast asleep.
