The Apartment of Luke and Mara Jade Skywalker

[Luke Skywalker]

SK's reply is just what Luke thought it would be. He shakes his head. Luke was unable to identify the images he received from his former friend and ally. The planet is unknown to him. But he did get the impression of a strong presence of the dark side.

Luke is now ready to go before the Council and present what he knows about SK. They must come up with a plan to stop him before there is more death and destruction.

Luke grabs a quick shower and gets dressed. He grabs his lightsaber and heads for the Temple. He wants to see if he can see any of the other Council members.

Luke gets home after a long day. He peeks in on Ben. Afterwards he grabs a quick shower then climbs into bed. Mara is already asleep. He quickly joins her.

Luke wakes up, unable to sleep. He slips out of bed and goes to the living room. Once there, he sits cross-legged on the floor. He opens himself up to the Force and centers himself there. It fills him, and soon images are coming to him. He focuses on Emperor Ire and Lord Zairon.

He senses darkness around the Emperor. He is not to be trusted. As far as Lord Zairon goes, he senses neither darkness nor light. He realizes Zairon is loyal to Ire, period. Then a sense of dread comes over Luke. These two are going to bring turmoil to Luke and the Jedi Order. There needs to be an opposing force to the RGE with the Emperor in charge.

The Force has nothing more that it will show Luke. He comes out of his meditation. The Council will have to make assignments, and make their selections soon. Both of the issues with SK and the Emperor demand immediate attention.

Luke goes to the kitchen and begins to fix breakfast. He fixes hotcakes and nerf sausage. As he fixes it, he wonders, "Is Mara still having anymore nightmares? Has she figured out what is causing them?" He has an idea, but wants her to figure it out on her own if possible. Luke sets the table, and puts two platters of food in the center of the table. He heads down the hall to wake up Ben.

Luke wakes Ben up and takes him to the kitchen table. He fixes him a plate. He cuts up a piece of nerf sausage, then he gets a hotcake and pour syrup over it. He cuts up the hotcake, then sets the plate before the toddler.

"Yay hotcakes," says Ben.

"I know they are your favorite. Fixed them just for you," replies Luke.

Luke wonders if he should wake Mara or not. He's not sure how much sleep she is getting. He decides to get her up. He's anxious to see how she is doing.

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

One of Mara's eyes pop open when she hears the bedroom door open. She hides her face with the covers, not wanting to believe morning is already here.

"What do you want, Skywalker?" she says sleepily, voice muffled by the covers. Mara attempts to ignore the smell of breakfast.

[Luke Skywalker]

"I have breakfast hot and ready if you're interested," replies Luke. "Ben is already up and eating. Or if you prefer, you can get up later and heat you up a plate. How did you rest last night?"

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

"No, I'll get up. My stomach is growling too loudly now to go back to sleep." Mara slips out of the bed and puts on her robe.

"As for how I rested...well, rest is overrated anyway." She heads for the door. "I've got to figure out these nightmares, Luke. They're driving me crazy."

[Luke Skywalker]

"Still having them then," says Luke. "Any idea as to what might be causing them?" He waits for her answer before suggesting his opinion on the subject. When they reach the kitchen table, he fixes Mara a plate, then one for himself. He sits down to the table and begins to eat.

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

Mara slices into her hotcake, then looks up just as Ben is sliding his around his plate like a water ship. "Ben, don't play with your food, please." He grins at her before shoving a piece of hotcake into his mouth.

To Luke she responds, "No. I thought that it was from being around the Dark Side on Carratos, you know? But that was several weeks ago and the dreams have only intensified." She sighs. "Any ideas?"

[Luke Skywalker]

"I have a theory," he thinks carefully. "I'm wondering how much of this could be caused by all of the stuff Pappy has found out recently. Could it be stirring up repressed memories for you?" He takes a bite of nerf sausage, then takes a drink of hot chocolate.

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

Mara sets her fork down and considers this. "It's very possible, though I haven't had a chance to talk to Pappy about what he found out. Although, if he's been thinking about it a lot, I could be picking up his thoughts through the Force without realizing it." She shudders, remembering how Vader towered over the girl in her dream. Mara takes a long drink of her caf.

"Do you want to talk about the nightmares themselves?" asked Luke as he cleaned up Ben and set him in front of the holovid to watch his favorite show about puppets and the basic alphabet and numerical system. "Or maybe you want to talk to Pappy first, find out what he discovered, and see where that goes. Whenever you're ready to talk about it, just let me know."

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

"I don't know how much of this is factual, or just a product of my dreams. Each time, I see a very young girl with red hair. She can't be much more older than Ben is now." Mara hesitates. "I just sort of assumed that was me. And every time, Vader stands there, staring me down. Like he's evaluating me, or deciding whether or not to kill me, I don't know. Then he gestures to some stormtroopers and they put me into a shuttle.

"Sometimes I see Vader engaged in a lightsaber battle with a woman. I can never see her face, but Vader always strikes her down."
