RP between myself and Lotva domain Shai who plays the Yuuzhan Vong traditionalists:
The Yuuzhan Vong yorik-akaga Blood Sacrifice reverted from darkspace in system, the celestial form of Zonama Sekot was not yet visible as more than a brightly illuminated blotch on the sensory nodes that fed it's small bridge crew information through the cognition hoods. Silence had befallen the crew ever since their last jump, all were deep in concentration, tracking down this 'avatar of Yun-Ne'Shel' had been an arduous task, more so in order to make certain that the soul occupants of the ship they were following, the Grey Avril, were alone and without means to get a communication out in time. The beauty of this vessel was simple, the Loyalists, those Yuuzhan Vong who believed in the ways of Sekot...and blasphemous peeze, used such vessels when travelling between star systems in need of re worldshaping, many stricken worlds had been literally overtaken by biotechnology left from the initial invasion, in some cases it had completely destroyed worlds, leaving them virtually uninhabitable - others it had rejuvenated them, the shapers hoped to bring all into balance....and the traditionalists would do so too, but in a much different way. "The infidel's vessel makes good time, sub commander, it is our assumption that it has not yet been alerted to our presence." Sub Commander Fei Choka nodded once in the affirmative, but did not yet speak, there would come a time for words...few of course...but now was not it, the crew would know what to do.
Aeron is on her last jump toward Zonama Sekot as the Grey Avril reverted to normal space before it's time. Surprised she looks at the controls and notices an unknown source of gravity that has caused the early revert. Maybe a huge asteroid nobody knew of that she came too close to? She checks again the sensors and finds the gravity source and nothing unusual. A rather huge rock close by. "Well I suppose we take the remaining part slow, mhh? What do you say, Avril?" she says to the ship. "Bring us in slowly, not necessary to hurry, there is nothing majorly important waiting." Aeron turns to her daughter who has woken meanwhile, kicking in her seat and bubbling something. "Where is awake here," she asks and tickles the little girl. "There you gonna see something interesting, that is our home far in the distant, Zonama Sekot, and over there far, far away the bright dot is the sun warming it. Making it day and night."
Fei Choka had waited until the opportune moment, this was key, when next the ships made thing drives attempted to begin the power up for the final microjump, he would give the order. Several tense moments of silence later, and many of the crew had been almost too tense to draw breath, but then the order came, swift and precise. "Now." The tactician sent the mental signal, hands moving deftly over the sensory node array that linked him with the ships mind, he saw what it saw, felt what it felt, and coaxed the dovin basals into doing precisely what the sub commander had ordered. With an barely audible 'whump' the sacrifice's gigantic dovin basals turned about face, drawing on the gravatic pulses of the Sekotan craft and focussing inwards in an attempt to pull it's shields. At the same that order was sent, so too was another from the same tactician, this time signalling the forward most Yaret-korr emplacements and calcifications to open fire, concentrating on disabling that vessels engines. If successful, they would be killing two oovark with one tsik-vai.
Aeron’s mind hurt from the shriek she receives from her ship. It yelps that the shields are gone and that it has a target lock on it. It also tells her that it feels trapped, an unusual gravity well capturing it on place, making it nearly impossible to move. Aeron turns to the consoles, reaching out with the Force towards space and finding a faint hint. In the distance, what she thought to be a rock turned out to be alive, Yuuzhan Vong. The shields are gone, useless, not to be brought up again. The generator has burnt out trying to fight the immense pull it had to withstand. The sensors tell her only gibberish, the huge gravity abnormality rendering them useless and blind. She concentrates and reaches out in the Force, trying to get a target lock with the missiles, but the ship refused to give her a precise one. She'd need to shoot blindly. Horror closes around her heart, she is here with her child, without help facing a superior enemy. ‘
"Again." - the order tore across the command chamber and the crew were working long ahead of it, somehow they instinctively knew what was needed and when, where, in order to do what must be done. The Yaret-korr poured forth torrents of molten plasma all destined for the aft of the ship, as yet they had no way of telling where the vessels escape mechanisms were, Sekotan vessels induced a certain degree of pot luck when it came to where they stored various things, there was very little in the way of uniformed engineering that applied to such things, as everyone’s seed partner was different, particularly among the force sensitive. However this turned out it was going to be inevitably bad for the infidels in question. "Sensory nodes show that the infidel is trying to manoeuvre to face us." a voice from somewhere below the command deck called, and Fei Choka cursed under his breath, they were not going to flee, well that suited him just fine, in fact, it was the most worthy thing this blasphemous infidel had done so far - the shapers were going to love this if he was unsuccessful, and so failure must not happen under any circumstances. "I do not care what it takes, destroy that ship."
The molten plasma comes toward her, now directed at the bridge. The movement of the vessel has changed it position to the Yuuzhan Vong craft. Aeron curses. This is a one try only chance she has, she fires the missiles, all of them, ten in total, reaching out in the Force and capturing them, directing their way. She takes Angel at the same time, racing down the corridor, away from the bridge, located in the forward part of the ship. The molten plasma is most likely to impact there. She doesn't come far and the ship rocks. She falls down and then there is the next impact. She can feel the pain of Avril as it yelps from the impacts, feels how the hull breaches open. Aeron tries to stay concentrated on the missiles directing it further toward the living ship out there. It is already straining her and still she keeps going. She creates a Force Protection Bubble around Angel and then there is a third impact. It is close. And then the fourth. She can hear the cracks above and being already at the edge of her ability she only manages to look up and sees parts of the ceiling falling down on her. The heavy parts of the ship bury her. She screams in pain as bones crash and her flesh breaks open. Her concentration flickering only for a second the worry about her daughter snapping her out of her own pain forging her concentration only on the surviving of her daughter and taking out the attacking ship. Then all will be fine. That is all that matters. Angel. The missiles get closer and closer, she can let go of them they are now close enough to find their target alone. She keeps the bubble around Angel, waiting only for the shockwave of the explosion, to ensure that the threat is gone.
"The dovin basal emplacements report that a hit will be imminent with the correct ammount of gravatic force" One of the command deck's crew was saying, and for a moment Fei Choka felt the familiar pang of excitement that signified the gods were going to be VERY pleased with him when this was done with.
But that was before the following report was received...
"Commander, they are returning-"
The subordinate who had uttered those words was never going to be able to speak that fateful 'fire', as an explosion tore through the mica viewing lens and into the bridge, ripping through superheated yorik coral and sensory arrays, taking with it all air that had sustained them, and indeed those in the chambers immediately beyond. The entire bridge was obliterrated, and the blood sacrifice, soon to be no more. The commander's final wish was only that whatever happened to him, he had taken that gods cursed whelp of a machine with him.
Aeron can feel the shockwave riding the nearly fatal destroyed vessel of hers. It is over, the enemy is destroyed. She gazes at the little girl, lying right before her, safe. With a last effort she brushes softly over her girl and then her eyes closes. She reduces her heartbeat to nearly not noticeable, one, two beats per minute, her breathing slowed and she lies still. She is very aware of the damage done to her body, the damage on her spine, hips, the crushed lag and arm. Eventually someone will find the vessel or it manages to return to the surface. Someone will find her daughter and safe her.
Angel reaches out through the Force to her father, the close bond they shared allows her to reach through the huge distance: "Papa!!" she screams desperately and afraid through the Force. "Mommy?!?" Her fear swinging in the touch, in her whole being, it is clutching her heart.
Admiral Brandon Salan stands on deck of the MC80 Liberty type Star Cruiser Dark Falcon as the officer on duty at the sensor array comm.s him, “Sir there is something unusual, a detonation, out at the perimeter.” “What detonation?” he asked confused. “Seems like an asteroid sized rock exploded, Sir.” “Asteroids do not just explode,” he states and switches frequency to connect navigation, “Plot immediately a curse to the coordinates the sensors indicate. I want to know what’s happening out there.” “Yes Sir, coordinates set, curse clear, engaging engines now.” The cruiser speeds up softly and the stars streaks for a second, a second before they shrink back to dots. “Sir, the Grey Avirl. The ship is damaged. It seems as would it have been attacked,” comes from the officer on duty at the sensors. “Bring it in immediately,” Admiral Salan orders. The bridge starts to buzz with activity as the living Sekotan ship is brought on board with the tractor beam. “I’ll go to the hanger to see the ship myself. There must be a reason why Kage Aeron didn’t call for help,” with that he swaps around and leaves.
Admiral Salan is rather shocked as he sees the damage done to the ship, the area where the bridge has been practically doesn’t exist anymore. A trooper just returns from inside the ship, a kicking and screaming baby in his arms, “Sir, she is the only one surviving, Kage Aeron got buried under a lot of construction plates from the inside, her body is ... there is no sign of life anymore.” Admiral Salan freezes, “Say again!” “Sir, I fear Kage Aeron didn’t make it,” the trooper answered again. “Have you checked?” “Of course, there is no pulse, she is not breathing, her body is buried chest downwards ... nobody could have survived that,” he answers. “I’m sorry to report that Sir.” He climbs into the ship and freezes again as he sees the lifeless body. He turns and yells downwards, “Cut her out, free her from that stuff and get her to the medbay. Remind the medics she is allergic to bacta! This is gonna be a challenge to them.” Admiral Salan climbs out of the ship again, “I’ve to comm her husband.” He takes the little girl form the troopers arm and hops her lighty, “Shh, little one, shh. We go and see that we find your dad for you. Shh.”
As he has returned to the bridge he orders to open a comm. line to Volk’s personal frequency. Admiral Salan takes a deep breath, Angel still whimpering, exhaust from the constant screaming and whining. “Master Malreaux, this is Admiral Salan onboard of the Dark Falcon. I regret to have the duty to inform you that the vessel of your wife had been attacked. The only good think I can tell you, is, that your daughter is fine, besides being distressed and exhaust. How your wife is I can’t tell you, right now she is recovered from the vessel though we couldn’t ... it seems that she has not made it. I am still waiting for the last words of our medics onboard. We are aware of her bacta condition what will make it even more difficult for them. I’m truly sorry to have to tell you that, Sir. I will contact you again as soon as I know more, Admiral Salan out.”

“Sir, we finally managed to free Kage Aeron from the plates under which she was buried. The medics attached all their stuff but do not see how they can help her. There is too much damage done, spine, legs, arm ... but they say she is alive. However she is doing that but she is. I don’t know for how much longer. The medics refuse to use bacta on her. In my opinion Sir, that is ... that is odd at least to say,” the trooper informed the Admiral. “Thank you, and the medics do know what they do, she is allergic to it. Over and Out,” Admiral Salan closed the connection, still Angel holding in his arms. The little girl has stopped her crying, her red-rimmed eyes closed. She seems to be asleep. Anyway he whispers to her, “We go now to the medbay, your mommy is there.” He leaves the bridge, close to hurrying and heads to the med bay.
He reaches the sterile smelling room, it is rather busy. Countless persons are rushing around a single bed in the centre of the room. He steps back, just watching. He’d not receive an answer just yet and doesn’t want to interrupt their work.

Finally he dares to stop a medic, “How is she?” The stressed out looking doctor gazes at him, “Well, there is nothing really we can do, there is ... how to say it best? It’s easier to say what is not harmed, her head and left arm, she has a very very faint pulse and it seems as would she have slowed it down, everything else ... any other one with such wounds we’d put into bacta for at least three, four weeks. But here ... we try our best, Sir, and now excuse me.” Admiral Salan’s face falls, how shall he tell that her husband? He turns to leave the medics to their work and walks to the closest comm. station. He keys in Master Malreaux personal code again, “Sir, this is Admiral Salan again, we have recovered your wife from the ruins of her ship. The medics are working on her right now but do not give her much of a chance. As it seems she has put herself into some kind of trance with very slow pulse and breathing what leaded to the first information of her having passed on. Sir I am truly sorry for this misinformation. At this moment your wife is still alive and the best medics around here are trying to help her.”

*Coming out of hyperspace, Volk and Cate standing in the cockpit looking out at the Fleet arranged in a defensive formation, send out a transmission as they approach.*
Un-identified vessel, you are approaching a military excerise. Power down and state your reason for entering Sekot Air Space?
Volk looking around wonders if this is the new home defense fleet Aeron ordered. Flipping a switch to open a channel to the fleet, Volk answers*
This is Volk Malreaux, accompanied by Jedi Master Windancer who's in Command of the fleet?
*The ensign on the comm*
Admiral Brandon Salan, Master Malreaux. He was expecting you, his orders are for you to land directly on the Star Cruiser Dark Falcon. He will meet you there personally, Sir.
*Volk looks over at Cate as its her ship.*

*Pilot to Cate.*
Yes, ma'am.
*He guides the ship to the designated landing bay and ship.*
*Cate to Volk.*
Tell him we will comply.

Several hours after Volk arrived, the Snake Eyes dropped in to real space on the fringes of the system. the shields powered up and the hyperdrive began charging once more, but the weapons systems still remained offline. The ship started broadcasting a simple holographic messeage towards the planet, address for Volk Malreaux. a floating, slowly spinning 3-dimensional Black Sun logo.

*Talking into the comm Volk answers like Cate said.*
We're in bound Dark Falcon, tell the Admiral I want Angel at the hanger when i get there. Understood?
*The Com Officer replies*
Yes, sir sending message now.
*Volk sitting behind the pilot in the com station aboard Cate's ship sees the message from the Black Sun and sighs. Things were getting complicated fast, but he returns the message after adding a simple smugglers decryption to the message. Then deleting everything so it was as nothing was ever received. Looking over at Cate he sighs knowing she saw him.*
Sorry, was something personal I had to take care of...Thanks again for coming so quickly.
*He know they are getting closer to the Dark Falcon and to Aeron, he was worried about both of his girls. To lose either one would send him over the edge and he knew it, he felt it creeping closer with them just hurting. Soon he would be there and take charge, there was alot he needed answered. Things to take care of...mostly the GJO and who was in charge without Aeron there.*

*Cate smiles*
No problem Volk. Private business is private business and should remain such. If you want to get a secure channel just ask. It will be automatically deleted after you finish talking if you want.
You're welcome. She is my friend and was glad to come. I'm worried about her too. Aeron never does things by halves. But is she strong and a survivor. We will pull her through this.
*As they get closer Cate can feel Angel's presence strongly and Aeron's faintly, very faintly. She murmurs almost to herself.*
Angel seems fine. I don't like what I'm sensing from Aeron but at least she is alive.
*The pilot guides the ship gracefully into the docking bay and lands. The hatch opens.*
We are here.
*Cate jumps up and goes to get GH-7 and to make sure the supplies are unloaded.*
I will meet you outside.

Admiral Salan is waiting for Volk Malreaux. The Grey’s daughter is still in his arms, meanwhile sleeping. He is kind of clad for that, it means she is quiet and doesn’t exhaust herself any more. He stands in the waiting area, a safe place in case the maglock fails or eventual engine failures. It is mainly meant for civilians and those not working on crafts and vessels. He watches the ship landing, settling softly onto the deck. The little girl in his arms stirs, probably feeling her father close by. Her piercing blue eyes gazes suddenly up at him, her face grimacing before she starts to sob again. He brushed through her hair lightly, “Shh, your papa will be here soon, shh.” He rocks her very lightly though it doesn’t sooth her a bit. Finally the hatch opens and he steps out of the secluded area and approaches the ship.

“This is Captain Alman Blaqua. Chunin Kenobi you’ve clearance for hangar zero beta nine. An officer will pick you up,” the current officer in charge on the bridge answered. He transmit to Chunin Kenobi the direction to the guide beam.
