As apologies went, that wasn't too bad on the uptake, but he didn't need to know that too soon, at least not as far as she was concerned. Keeping her eyes on their path, she could tell that he was paying more attention to her than where they were going, a detrimental mistake perhaps, but even in her preripheral, he seemed enraptured by something. Probably looking for something else to make a scene with - her mind snarked, but she didn't speak it.
"Why did I stay?" She repeated his question buying herself more time to actually think about that, on the first instance she had been sure it had been to prevent further commotion and keep the attention off of them than the opposite, but part of her had actually wanted to hear his reasoning for causing the cuffuffle he had. While it had been slightly embarrassing to have so much attnetion centered on them and their little...tiff, it wasn't why she had stayed.
"I want to hear what you have to say, since you seem so determined to tell me back there. But there is no reason why half of Obroa Skai needs to hear what you or I have to say." Not entirely a lie, she told herself, but it wasn't a complete truth either, he was fishing for something, a reaction most likely, and she wasn't about to give one up for free.
But a little provocation never hurt anyone.
" Besides, it will be enlighteningly fun if nothing else. Try not to cause a scene when we get there, I actually have to stay there you know."
Now it was her turn to wink at him, which she did, then turned her gaze back to the skylane, they were almost there anyway.

He takes another holo image of her as she winks, but makes a rude noise. "Those others will forget it by the morning and chalk it up to an entertaining night. " There was something about her, why he was taking images of her he had no idea, but it could be for the simple fact....that he was compelled to.
"Which reminds me, what are you doing here of all places? You never did answer me before....our scene." He chuckles at her, remembering how she looked as everyone looked at them. "I give you my word, there will be no scene this time, just two attractive people in a deep and meaningful.....discusion."

"That may be so, but i'd rather they didn't remember it at all." She commented flatly, her concentration firmly on where they were going until she heard the familiar wirring of a holocam.
Expression set in a sullen ensemble, she slid her gaze sideways, along with one hand which she placed gently over the lens of the holocam, blocking it's line of sight.
"And will you stop that? What are you going to do with those anyway?" The powers that be alone only knew, she didn't want to think about it, but it wouldn't have been the first time someone had decided to take a picture of her and put it to some use in the news per say...but he didn't seem the type for blackmail.
Definitely a plus.
His next question, or rather his re-question, deftly moved the conversation along, and for that much she smiled the first genuine smile of the evening.
"You could call it a pleasure trip, I suppose. Though as yet I have found very little. Perhaps my luck will change, who truly can tell?"
There was that smile again, tugging at the corners of her lips, though try as she might to diffuse it before it blossomed on her fine features. What she had said was the truth in a roundabout fashion, though the choice to come here of all places had been her own, rather than head for coruscant as had been discussed back home.
They arrived outside the hotel a split second later, Khari pulling the speeder to a gentle halt, as opposed to the knee-jerk reaction stop she would have liked to, just to throw him off side. But even she wasn't that cruel...well, not without reason. Getting out of the pilot's side, she tossed him the keys rather nonchalantly, then waited on the long stretch of steps for him to do what he would.

He laughs at her fro covering his holocam, so he puts it down and smiles at her. Again it held a mischievous angle to it. "Oh, I was planning on doctoring them to make it seem like you are in a wedding dress, me beside you and sell them to the GNN for a hefty sum. I could cut you in on the deal and give you say...2 percent?" He keeps his smile, but he has to turn to see where they were at or he would break down and start laughing.
Pleasure she said. Yes, it was what he sought in life, too. There was few and far between of that sensation.
"Maybe your luck is changing." He says as he looks back at her. "Or both of ours." Life did work in crazy turns, just to keep you on your toes and make your life interesting. "I have enjoyed the little time we have spent together....though its just the tip of the sword. Who knows what other fun there is in store for us....."

"Don't be delusaional, I was just starting to warm to you." She shot back quickly, though despite herself, she couldn't help but warm to that comment he had just made too. And she knew she shouldn't. In fact, she was finding it very difficult to remain angry at him...
Walking up the steps towards the hotel doors, she nodded thanks to the doorman on the way in for activating the door's open function ahead of their arrival. Khari stepped into the luxurious plaza beyond the hotel threshold, a true wonder in architecture, both figuratively and visually. Though to Khari, it was more like a strangely styled home from home, brought up in the lap of luxruy made sights like these decidedly...boring. She wondered if he echoed the same empty sentiment? It made the little things all worth while.
"The bar is that way, assuming you'll be wanting to resume drinking? Unless, of course, you don't drink something other than corellian spirits?" She lowered her tone to a whisper, mock leaning in close to his ear, "They are somewhat picky about what they sell, not to my tastes either, but there it is."
Waiting for him to make the decision, she almost had offered the choice for him to come back to her suite, to simply order room service, though that would undoubtedly give him the wrong impression, and after all...she was supposed to be angry with him. This was a chance for him to explain not....explore.

"Oh, you were...?" He laughs again, then stops himself. This was getting to be a habit. "I will refrain from being delusional in your presence from now on...." He used the excuse to get out of the speeder to hide that he was trying not to laugh.
Following her up to the doors, he walked beside her fighting the urge to place his hand in hers. He didn't know where that notion came from, it just popped into his thoughts. Looking around once inside he whistles softly. "Nice architecture. To much for me though...i like simple things. "
"If you've been to one bar, you have been to them all. Plus I drink whats handy...." He stops as she leans in closer and whispers something in his ear. " ...not to your tastes? How about we order something just for us, and go somewhere private....wouldnt want anyone to over hear us as we 'talk' " For a second there he thought she would have asked him upstairs, but he didn't want to push that. Maybe a quiet place somewhere she felt comfortable with was the answer. He even used her statement from earlier about not liking everyone hearing what was happening between them. She was right it was no ones business but theres.

Khari laughed at that, no - not a laugh, a giggle...and she instantly berated herself inwardly for doing so, how could she have been that careless? Well, she supposed being angry with him had gone straight out the window, now that was done, she almost felt sorry for the way she had spoken to him before.
Remember who he is...don't be foolish.
Blushing slightly at her immature little noise, she bit down on her bottom lip pensively, eyes narrowing to mirror the mood ever so slightly. Now she felt foolish.
"What I said earlier, I didn't mean to sound....well....it just took me by surprise, I know you can't be held responsible for the actions of a relative...but you must understand where I am coming from?"
That was about as good as an apology got coming from one who never had to give one in her entire life. She wasn't a complete selfish nerf, but she wasn't accustomed to giving out such frank a rescindment, particularly to someone she might have considered a lesser were she on her homeworld. In truth, she was intrigued by him, more than even she was willing to admit.
"Somewhere more private?" She uttered with a little more candor...she hadn't been expecting that, "Well, we could talk more openly in my suite, that is, of course, if you don't mind?"
Now she was muttering again, floundering almost, what was she playing at? Each and every sensibility seemed to be screaming at her to do the opposite, to turf him out on his ear and yet here she was doing the one thing she had been adament she wouldn't do.
"Don't get any ideas." - well that told him, she thought soon after, irked at how terse that had sounded to her head.

Both his eyebrows raised at that giggle, not that it was out of line, just painted a different picture of her. He liked it, as well as her laugh when she did. Maybe that's what he found so alluring about her, there was someone underneath all that pretentious noble attitude trying to get out. He would like to see more of that, and had it in mind to do just that.
Hearing the something almost like an apology, he bowed respectfully. "I to wish to apologies to you for my out burst earlier. "
"I don't mind at all, and i wasn't getting any ideas other than ordering something sweet and delectable for us....but, I don't want you to be uncomfortable with me. We could stay down here, maybe go out on the terrace...." Her room, while an ideal place for them, would send a message he didn't want to send so soon. Not to her or anyone else that might be looking at them.

Smiling, she nodded once in the affirmative, expression a mere shadow of what it had been before, softening but keeping the right ammount of indifference there for posterity's sake.
"Accepted if mine was?" She hadn't been entirely serious on the latter count, weather he accepted her apology or not was entirely his own choice. It could make things a little awkward if he didn't, but she was confident she could work past that if she had to.
And what was that slight flutter she had felt when he'd suggested ordering something sweet? Khari could feel her skin flush a darker shade just contemplating the reasons, and so it was quite simple, she knew exactly what she had felt that for. Thrown somewhat off pace by the suggestion of change of locale, she blinked, trying to clear her vision of the invading, invisible stars, and found her voice again.
"The terrace sounds good to me, there will be few there this time of night in any case, too temperate for the locals, I suppose."
Traversing the plaza, Khari bid he follow her through the short maze of chairs that littered the bar area, back to the huge set of ornately styled doors that dominated the rear of the hotel's interior. Seeking out a good spot for them, she waited for him to join her, or the droid waiter to inevitably ask her what her poison of choice was this night. Casting a carefully honed critical eye over Tress, she surmised that she might have already found it.
When he caught up, she smiled engraciatingly at him, mind tripping over what she had just been thinking, and something amusing came to mind.
"I suppose this is where the announcer would usually say, round two?" Waving the nonsensical away, she continued, dark eyes somewhat distant for a heartbeat or two, "I suppose I should explain my abject irritation a little better? It's just, in the resulting chaos from that raid your grandfather was chieftan of, I lost family, my family as a whole lost friends, standing and reputation. A reputation might matter little on any number of worlds in the core, but on Kuat it is everything. As strange or pretentious as this might seem to you, it caused us to lose a lot more than perhaps even Tyber Zann realized."
This time her voice wasn't harsh, belayed the minor sense of bitterness she felt when she recalled the results of the old pirate's actions. She had only been a girl back then, barely old enough to remember what had gone on, but it had left it's mark, albeit a ghost of it's former self, it was a mark nonetheless.
"All that is still being turned around to this day. Our efforts were hampered by the Vong...while the occupation was a short one, we are still cleaning up their mess."

"You have nothing to be forgiven for, I was the one that was at fault. But apology accepted...." he says as he bows his head respectfully as a show of sincerity.
"Yes, i thought the terrace would be nice this time of night....there is a cool breeze so it wouldn't be to uncomfortable for us. Plus as you mentioned it has the added bonus of being empty and we can be...alone." He says as he follows her out to the terrace. To the droid waiter, he says. "Something sweet, please... be it a non-alcoholic drink or an edible morsel." Tress's eyes invertibly gaze upon Khari, to who he winks before turning back to the droid. " Some bottled water, too." Sweet fruit or a drink and some water, nothing to cloud their senses. Whatever came from this was going to be with both of them thinking with a clear head.
Laughing softly it came out as a low timber. "Are we in a match? I don't wish to fight with you....its more like test of wills if anything. Explaining each of our opinions." He stayed quiet as she explained her side of the situation. He knew what she had meant earlier. He agreed to a point, his grandfather had caused injury to many. "I understand all that, Khari. I am not overlooking the problems he caused to Kuat or what has happened since, but there is little I could do other than offer you this....a new beginning. I will do all in my power to help Kuat and the KDY shipyards if I can. Though as of now, I have no idea how I can accomplish that....."

Waiting for the droid to depart, she listened to everything he had to say, trying to keep an open mind on a matter she had only ever observed from one side of the fence. She had to wonder how the people of Anaxes viewed that particular piece of history, they must have known, surely? In any case, he was right on one thing, it wasn't really within his power to do more than speak the case of either side, and there would be no doubt in Khari's mind when it came to weather or not the Kuati people would accept someone from a world like Anaxes speaking for them. It wouldn't wash with them, because she knew it didn't wash with her.
"You can't, help us I mean. We are a world of people who are severely independent, we would no more accept outside help in the rebuilding of a monument than we would our shipyards. What's done is done...but I can only advise caution on your part, if word were to get out in the senate of who you truly are, I cannot imagine it would go over well with our own senators"
Unsure of why she was telling him this, their conversation was one again interrupted by the droid placing down a large platter upon which sat an array of various fruits and beverages, some of them causing Khari herself to arch a eyebrow in curiosity...she wasn't even certain what half of them were. Leaving it to him to make the first choice, she leaned back in her chair.
"Onto more pleasant, or at least curious things, you were asking me questions before, about the telbun arrangement. Why so curious, eager to walk in their boots?"
There was an amusement in her eyes that only the darkness of the night could have eclipsed, and a wry smile played across her lips as she finished those words, already guessing his abject answer.
Once more her gaze dropped to the platter of sweet fruits, and narrowed slightly upon what could have been mistaken for something floral. She then shook her head adamently. "No," She said with another shake of her head, "I have no idea what that is either, but i'll bet you 50,000 credits that it doesn't taste as good as it looks."

"I don't care if they know who i really am within the Senate. I used my families connections and long history to win the Senate election of my home planet. One side coming from honored Defense Fleet Commanders, the other side honored for another reason. I am a mixture of both, Khari...never forget that. " A warning, an announcement....he didn't want to think which it was. What he had said was who he was, it was her choice to accept him as he was or not.
The droid bring them their sample tray, gave him the opportunity to get his thoughts together. Though he did look at the spread before them.
Her next question caught him off guard, but a slow seductive smile appeared none the less as he answered. "Only if that an invitation on your part. Though in all honesty, I am curious about them....and jealous." He says as he reaches for an orange looking fruit she had indicated, juicy and sticky, he brings it to his nose and sniffs. Liking the smell he takes a taste, closing his eyes he enjoys the tangy sweetness of it. "You have to try this one...sweet and tangy at the same time." Could be said of her, he thinks to himself.

"Jealous?" She hadn't meant that to sound quite as incredulous as it did, "Now there is something I did not expect to hear, you didn't mention you were full of surprises too."
It was, to be perfectly honest with herself, something she had never expected to hear from anyone who was not born to that life, and never anyone who did not come from her homeworld. Though his meaning was something she had caught onto, but she wasn't too over self confident to try and place a judgement on that one, he had yet to say otherwise, however.
Watching his expression as he tasted the fruit, she couldn't help but chuckle slightly, the casual way in which he picked at it was all underpinned by this almost theatrical manner, as if he was trying to impress someone with how gentile he could be. She wasn't certain about his review however, choosing to take him up on that offer, picking up a piece of the same fruit and popping it into her mouth. A second later the tang really hit her tastebuds and she couldn't help but squint slightly, shooting him an admonishing glance - she wasn't going to speak with her mouth full - finishing what she had before actually saying something.
"More tangy than not, I think..." She said, laughing slightly.
"Going back though, excuse my surprise, but the view is usually...well, what you said before about them being slaves, as hard as I find to actually accept that view point, I understand where it could be misconstrude. And never have I heard a non Kuati state that they wished they could be in that...uhh for lack of a better term, position. Not that I have had an issues with my own, of course..."
His expression was as unreadable as ever, just as she suspected it would be, he was in politics, it was rare she had met someone who was in that line of work who couldn't keep a good sabacc face at all times.

"Yes, jealous. That a telbun can spend some alone time with you...." He waves around him, them being quite alone themselves. "...more than this kind of alone. If you get my drift." He still didn't know how or what Telbuns acted, or if they were summoned when needed. Though he was jealous of the time they would spend with her.
He watched as she had her own taste of the fruit and smiled as she gave him a look. "Tangy but there is a sweet after taste...is there not?" His eyes kept on going back to her lips. He wondered if she would lick them in that innocent way all woman seemed to do, something mildly sensual in the act to him.
"Don't get me wrong, Khari....I don't wish to be a slave or Telbun in any sense of the word. Only serve in some of their functions or duties for a night or however long one wished to continue, if that isn't an insult....." His eyes do wonder to the table over Khari's shoulder, at a good looking woman who had just sat down with a man. She had noticed him right away and was crossing her legs for his benefit it seemed, showing off long legs. When she looked up again he gave her a quick smile and wink, to show he noticed.
It had been a ploy to see what Khari would do. Some would get angry, others would turn and stare the woman down claiming their territory. Tress did it just to see what she would do, to gage her reaction.....

Sucking slightly on her lower lip to capture what juice was left before it escaped her, Khari found herself, yet again, almost dumbfounded by the line this conversation was taking. Was he implying what she assumed he was? And then he made it even more aparent.
"Yes, they would be expected to 'spend time' with me as you so put it finely. But as I explained earlier, it is an arrangement, little more. If mine harboured any feelings for me then I cannot imagine they surpassed anything other than my own for him. He has his purpose, I have mine."
Helping herself to another piece of fruit, she watched his line of sight slide past her for a moment, but thought nothing of it, and then he did it again, in the most perplexing of ways, issuing a wink in the direction of some unseen person at her back.
Eyes narrowing to suspicious slits, she frowned slightly, then craned her neck back to take a look at the source of his amusement. There, sitting a short distance away was a woman of aproximately the same age as herself, highly attractive and alone to boot, who's expression seemed to wander elsewhere when she realized Khari was looking right at her.
Turning back around to face Tress, Khari's expression was less than impressed, more...sardonic than anything, in fact. So that was his game...she had expected more from him, really. He was only proving her initial suspicions right, she didn't need to ask what he had inherited from the Zann side of his family, it spoke for it's self. And then again, why should she care? He was what he was, she knew that already...and that irked her. But he didn't have to know it.
"Thank you for the interesting offer of food, but I am suddenly feeling a little tired. I should retire for the evening..." She stood up without preamable, smoothing down the folds of her skirt accordingly, expression unreadable as she fixed it on the large doors they had walked through only moments earlier. Pausing to lean down to his level and whisper into his ear. "Besides, I wouldn't want to get in the way of true lust now would I?"
Patting him condescendingly on the shoulder, she made for the doors and began to cross the hotel lobby again, head held high, not one looking back with total deliberate intent.
