The Kenobi Ranch

[Gert Yonsz-Kenobi]

The Rose lands on the personal pad outside their large home just off the Jedi Temple. Rico greets her at the ramp. "Get the bags Rico. I'm beat."

"Yes mistress."

Wow she thinks, did 3P0 reprogram him or something? Not caring enough to find out she drags herself into the house, walks up the seemingly endless flight of stairs and flops face down on there bed at the end of the hall.

[Gert Yonsz-Kenobi]

She raises her head after her long nap and looks at the time. Crud, time to file a report... she thinks groggily and heads for the fresher before leaving for her office in the temple.

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

It is late when a transmission is received on the Kenobi's holonet unit. It is a holorecording of Mara.

"Hello, Gert. We are aware of Starkiller's path of destruction and are currently a few steps behind him. We also believe that he will eventually hit Yavin IV, just as you suspect. I'm going with Luke to Naboo to try to stop Starkiller before he reaches Yavin IV." Mara's holoimage hesitates a moment, then continues softly. "I hate to put the burden on you, but Ben is alone in our apartment with Threepio, his nanny droid, and a Force sensitive babysitter. I'd feel more comfortable if he were with a fully trained Jedi and was wondering if you would keep him with you? Thank you, Gert, and may the Force be with you."

[Gert Yonsz-Kenobi]

OU trundles by the holo unit and sees the message light blinking. Knowing the temple is on alert he plays the message. OU lets out a low whistle of dismay. Beeping in a worried tone he locates his master in the TapCaf and forwards Mara's holo to Gert's personal unit.

[Luke Skywalker]

Luke decides to send an encrypted message to Pappy and Gert.

Hey guys,

Need a favor from you. This is off the books and a job for the Shadows. No official channels, and report directly to me. This is of the highest priority.

Need the Shadows to check out Ire. I am more than concerned he has named himself Emperor and shifted the power structure in the Senate. I overheard him say he was a Sith when I was in the Throne Room last week, but didn't anticipate this move.

Also, check into who may be interested in a rebellion/alliance against the RGE. If Ire is going to do what I fear he might do, it may mean war. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Luke sends the message to the home of Pappy and Gert.

[Pappy-Wan Kenobi]

"OK my friend good to know your available if I need you. Take care" He looks down at his data pad. It's the best he could hope for, over 40% of his former team mates and contacts from the rebellion are available if he needs them. After Luke's message he decided to make preparations for the worst. He sits back in his high back chair in the den. He stares at the holocron he found on Ord Mantell and he feels his heart rate rise. A day late and a cred short he thinks to himself....If his father could have been a week sooner in getting this to the Council. It may have helped or it could have brought the event about sooner. He slams his hand down hard on the desk and leans forward picking up the cube and rolls it in his hands. He will not let what happened to the Former Order happen to this Order. He wonders how long it will be before Luke confronts him......and places the cube back on his desk and leans back in the chair and closes his eyes.

[Luke Skywalker]

Luke passes through the security without any problems, and approaches the house. He walks up on the porch and knocks on the door.

[Pappy-Wan Kenobi]

He opens his eyes at the knock on the door...He must have nodded off...reaching out through the force he senses his friend and commander. Standing he makes his way out of the den and to the front door. Opening it he greets the Grand Master "Hello Luke I knew you would pay me a visit sooner or later...please come in can I offer you something to drink?" and closes the door as he enters.

[Luke Skywalker]

"Diet dagobah dew if you have it. Thanks." Luke pauses, then says, "What do you mean you knew I would pay a visit sooner or later?"

[Pappy-Wan Kenobi]

He walks into the kitchen and grabs 2 large diet dagobah dews from the fridge.....closing the fridge he walks back out to the living room and passes a drink to Luke "Here you go....Well let's just say as I left the council chambers I felt your feelings on my attitude. Come join me in the den, I think what I have to show you will explain everything." He turns and heads for the den.

Luke takes the diet dew from him, and follows him to the den. He wonders what it is that Pappy has to show him. Obviously it's something that he picked up on Ord Mantell.

[Gert Yonsz-Kenobi]

She walks in from the garden and senses Luke in the house. Following the Force she heads for the den. "Hey Luke, what brings you here?"

[Pappy-Wan Kenobi]

He walks in and the holo screen behind his desk is showing different information in multiple boxes...some news reports, others are financial some appear to be random holo cam views from across the galaxy. He pushes a button on his desk and the screen is covered by a false wall. Sitting down he motions for Luke to take a seat across from him. Seeing Gert enter he smiles "Hello dear, glad you could join us, please shut the door and have a seat." Looking at Luke he becomes very serious " Luke, can you tell me how much you know about the former Jedi Order? Say from about a few years before Order 66?" and sits back in his chair waiting for his reply.

[Luke Skywalker]

"I needed to speak with Pappy." Luke sits down. "Actually, my knowledge is limited. The Emperor purged everything he could get his hands on, so records from that time are few and far between." Luke pauses, "Most of what I know has been either second hand information, or holocrons from that era. Why do you ask?"

[Gert Yonsz-Kenobi]

She nods, closes the door and walks over to the peachskin floral fabric chase lounge and sits down, her legs curled under her after she kicks off her sturdy brown nerf leather utility boots.
