Having heard of an interesting lead of some plot device of interest, Takeda moves through the ice caverns of Hoth searching for some clue to the McGuffin Device.
In an attempt to protect himself from the local fauna he has heard about, he wears his fill armor and is armed with his pistol, his sword and his ever=present long-knife.
He picks his way around a corner carefully and opens a large roundish fissure, the overall effect looking much like an arena.

*Ithilwen has been exploring a system of caves on the icy planet for day, eventually discovering am interesting one oddly resembling a small arena. It seemed solid and protected so she was about to set up the camp for the night when she smells something approaching, then she hears it... definitely something big. Wondering if it could be the inhabitant of the cave or maybe a potential dinner she hides behind a recess in the cave's wall and waits; as soon as a scaly blue creature peeks in she blinks. A Kwi on Hoth?! She didn't know they ventured off Dathomir. Then she looks better and notices clothes and weapons... definitely not a Kwi. Could it be a Kwa? Intrigued, and not sensing anything threatening for now, she steps out and glances at the huge saurian*
Er, greetings.. didn't expect to meet anyone around here.
*She is wearing her blue Jedi robes for no other reason that they are the warmest she has, with her shoulders and torso covered by a light armor in agrinium. Her curved hilt saber is attached to her utility belt, while her daggers are secured in their sheathes on each thigh. Her Jedi katana's hilt is visible behind her shoulder, strapped on her back from right shoulder to left hip. In her left hand is a quite sturdy duffel bag, filled almost to its capacity.

Having understood the planet to have been abandoned, the sudden appearance of the Shistavanen draws a less than favorable reaction.
Takeda's right hand flies to his holstered pistol and it starts to clear the edge before he pauses, gun half drawn. He takes in the sight of her in her blue robes and notices the light saber on her belt.
"Well, this is a surprise... obviously neither did I... or at least anyone that was not interested in trying to determine what I taste like the hard way."

*As soon as she notices his movement her own right hand moves to rest over her saber, slowly lowering the duffel bag the few inches it lacked to touch the ground. She's not sure whether smirking at what he said about dinner or get wary... You don't get to meet a 3mt tall Kwa everyday after all, let alone in a remote planet like Hoth. She narrows her eyes, studying him*
Actually, I usually don't hunt sentients... not for dinner anyway. What about you, do you follow this policy as well?

"I was referring to the big white things with the teeth and claws... I forget the translation of their name...
I am sure you will agree, it is cold to mince words... I am not here on a contract for you, Is this a chance encounter, or do I have to be concerned about being cut down where I stand?"
Takeda eases his pistol back down int the holster, but does not remove his hand from it.

Oh, the wampa? I don't smell any around, but then again the ventilation in this caves is odd so you never know when one may sneak behind you.
*She shrugs slightly, then tilts her head*
Contract? Are you a bounty hunter? And no.. I'm here to study a few life forms. Unless you have a criminal record saying you steal candies from kids you have nothing to fear from me.
*smirks* Also, I never strike first.

Takeda relaxes some more and removes his hand from his pistol.
"Yes, wampa, those would be the ones." He looks her over again, then looks around the cavern and rubs his hands together in a futile effort to keep them warm.
"I have taken a few bounties before, though it is not the kind of work I do for the most part... Only if I am approached by a legitimate government to bring someone in, so much of bounty hunting is so unsavory. And no, I do not think I have stolen candy from any children; well, not as an adult anyhow... I do not think you meant that for when I was an adolescent myself."
Takeda tromps his feet a few times and rubs his hands together more.
"So what kind of life forms are you looking for here anyhow... Ice algae, or wampa?"

*Ithilwen relaxes her stance as well, smirking slightly at his attempts to get warm*
Remind me... is your species cold blooded? If so it's a miracle you can stand this temperature. If you are Force sensitive as I suspect you are I can each you a trick to get warmer... or we could do it the old fashioned way and set up a fire.
*She gives him a nod*
Something like that. I was looking for the Skel, I found record of this species and they say they're sentients.. haven't found them or traces of their presence yet though. I was looking for the lumni lichen too... I got word some dumb spice dealer was trying to find a way to get here and exploit it.
Agreed about bounties, did that myself a couple of times when I was younger before finding my Path. So what have you been sent here for, then?

Takeda chuckles at being asked if he is cold blooded. "Only by accusation... but a fire would be nice. Speaking of which, a little break and a snack would not be a bad thing either. I could not get reliable ground readings when I passed over earlier in the ship, so I landed much further away than I probably needed to.
Hmmm... I am not very practiced in the ways of the force, would be willing to give it a shot though.
Oh? I am not familiar with the Skel, are they supposed to be native to Hoth?"
Yes, quite. Too often bounties are less than legal, or disreputable means by corrupt officials. I have enough experience now to recognize some of it... I will go out on a limb here, but I have to say the various governments are all equally guilty of abusing the system, posting self-serving bounty on people. Some days I think the GA is worse than the RGE with it, but Imperial style governments by their nature rarely have to bother trying to skirt an issue.
Why am I here? Well, I had stumbled on a reference to an outpost of some of my ancestors in this area back from long ago. I have been trying to find any remaining evidence of where they were or what happened to them. So after finding my way down into the caverns here, I run into you.

*Ithilwen opens the bag and rummages through it*
Yeah, Hoth and sensors don't go well together. Not much to set up a fire with, on this planet.. but I think we can find enough stuff for a little one. As for food, I have some emergency rations... Or I could go out and find some fresh meat.
*She bares her fangs in a feral smile, then nods slightly*
Well, not sure if you were ever trained in the ways of the Force... but if you meditate and focus yourself in the Force you can retain your body heat and stay warm even in places like this. The Skel should be the only native sentient species on Hoth.. but they are primitive and live in caves, so it's difficult finding visible signs of their existence, if they actually exist.
*She slowly runs her claws along the fur of her throat as she listens to him, then frowns*
I haven't been to the most civilized systems in a while... so I missed out on all that. I have to say I'm glad I did, no matter how much history teaches us the governments are still deaf to it from what you say. As much as it was intriguing for a while I chose to stay away from politics in order to help 'common people' more efficiently. What do you mean with 'Imperial style governments by their nature rarely have to bother trying to skirt an issue'?
An old Kwa outpost? Fascinating... I hope you find something significant.

Takeda smiles at her mention of fresh food.
"Rations and spacer-food might be fun when you are a kid, but it does get old quick."
He swings a pack off his back and kneeling down rummages through it for a moment. "Aha! fresh sandwiches... well fresh-ish sandwiches. The have been cryoed and thawed, but they are from an excellent tap cafe... Care for one?"
He offers one up for her, it looks appealing and they are a very large sandwich.
"I have been training under a friend of mine who is a Jedi master. I noticed your wearing a saber as well as speaking of the force, I take it you are a Jedi?"
Chuckles at her political question. "Quite, Imperial governments are rarely concerned with public opinion, they rarely bother to hide the more questionable details. Their contracts tend to be more straight up, or at least not as duplicitous. I do not imagine Lord Ire going through motions to bring someone in with a Alive or Dead bounty when he can just send an assassin team to terminate them."
Takeda takes a bite of his sandwich, and after swallowing continues.
"Thank you, I hope so too, after 26 millennium it is quite difficult to find any trace of them. I hope your search for the Skel is less frustrating than my searches have been so far. Ok, my curiosity is getting the best of me... Is that a sword upon your back, and why a lightsaber and a sword?"

*Ithilwen takes the sandwich and gives him a nod*
Thanks, gladly.
*She quietly inhales, then once he takes a bite she takes two flasks from her bag and sits on it after placing the flasks between her and Takeda*
One has water, the other one something that can help keep you warmer.. just take it easy if you can't handle your liquor.
*Smirks slightly, then looks at him and laughs*
In all this weird encounter we haven't even introduced.. I'm Ithilwen. Yes, I am a Jedi.. used to be a Councilor back when Mara was Grand Master. Ages ago. Now I'm on my own, been roaming the outer rim and the unknown regions for a while.. wild space too, probably. What's the name of the Master that's training you?
*She takes a bite and snorts as he finishes answering about the Imperials*
Yeah, that's for sure. Though it depends on the leader.. some are more sneaky than others, see Palpy in the old days of the dying Republic. Lord Ire is the guy nowadays huh.. I heard about him but never had the 'pleasure' to meet him. 26 millennia?! Wow, older than I expected.. good luck with your research then, you need it. Try to meditate focusing on your ancestors and what you're looking for.. then trust your instincts. The Force works in subtle ways sometimes.
*She winks at him, then raises slightly an eyebrow*
Yes, it's a sword.. it was a gift from a mentor.
*She unsheathes it and runs her finger lightly along the blade, almost caressing it*
You won't see many of these around, a few Jedi of the past used this kind of weapon. I ran a research and found out about an ancient Force technique that makes the blade resistant to lightsabers; this way I can use it whenever I need it. As for why both.. this lightsaber is a part of me, of my accomplishments as Jedi and it carries part of people I love and that were important for me. But I guess you can call me old fashioned.. as much as the saber is effective I like to feel the weight of the blade, its balance. It's silent too, and in case it comes down to sever a limb of my opponent, the poor fellow could get a chance to have it reattached, opposed to the saber that cauterizes the tissues making it impossible.
What about you instead? You say you accept 'contracts', but somehow you don't look like the average merc to me, you seem driven more by ideals than money - so what do you do for a living?

He nods a thank you to her as she offers the flasks and heeds he words of caution about the one.
"It is a pleasure to meet you Ithilwen, I am Takeda... I have only recently encountered the Jedi, of course I have heard quite a bit previously, but minly rumor and legend. The individual that has shown me some of the ways of the force is Master Windancer, and I had a wonderful opportunity to practice swordsmanship with Master Augustus Starwarrior."
He sets his sandwich to the side as she unsheaths her sword. He watches her critically, not in a cautious way but watching both how she holds the blade and the blade itself.
"Most interesting, and a beautiful blade. I have not heard of the technique you describe, though I have not had much opportunity to speak with the Jedi about the combat arts in any depth."
He smiles and then chuckles at her questioning on his profession. "I spend much more time running a trade ship these days. Technically for my clan I am a warrior, but the Clans are mostly at peace these days, the odd heated trade dispute or border skirmish aside.
I do not mean to sound judgmental, so forgive me if this comes across wrong. But I assume by your selection of weaponry, you strike me as a duelist. Swordsmanship is something I have been a student of for years, would you be possibly be up for a friendly duel after our meal?"

*Ithilwen makes a face at rumor and legend being mentioned*
Heh, never listen to rumors.. they only get you in trouble. Cait? Oh, that's nice, she's a kind Jedi, very caring. *A wide smile spreads on her features* Gus is a close friend, I'm glad he started teaching! I introduced him to saber fighting when he was a Padawan... seems so long ago.
*She sheathes the katana, nodding*
Thank you. Well it's a very old technique, back to the first Jedi of Tython, so I don't expect many Jedi to know it either.. took me some research to find enough info in the Archives to learn it properly. I was told it's the light side equivalent of the Sith alchemy used to create Sith swords. It takes a lot of focus and mastery of TK at molecular level to succeed.
*She nods at his explanation, then chuckles*
You got me. I am indeed a duelist and teach saber arts.. I'll be glad to spar with you. What kind of style have you studied so far?

He nods as she describes Cait and Gus
"Small galaxy, to think you were his instructor, those are some high odds."
"I am not sure how to categorize the Clan schools of swordsmanship fit in with those taught by the Jedi, and of course I do not posses a lightsaber. If I had to try and categorize what I have learned it would be Form I with Gus and a the rest, somewhat like Form V, Those I learned over the years training with the Clans."
