Ok, this is what I have so far:
I have some thing for you and the lesson on metagaming and gomoding
MCD: A simple but easy lesson this time...
One thing that you may well come up against often, is the subject of Metagaming.
Metagaming is the term used for those who use information obtained out of character, in their plot's to outdo their opponent and/or gain the advantage 'illegally.'
This is also a varient of God Modding, and must be avoided at all costs, lest ye face the wrath of some very angry web overlords!
Observe...
Metagaming example: Player 1 has been sifting through an OOC plot discussion thread, and has noticed that Player 2 has posted the top secret plans for their next major offensive. Player 1 then takes this information and uses it IC in an RP thread, alerting everyone to the possibility they can form a counter defence before Player 2 has chance to put their plan into action.
Having not posted any viable means of obtaining this information IC, Player 1 has just executed a perfect example of metagaming and as such, deserves an almighty clip round the ear with an amphistaff. BAD PLAYER 1, BAD!
Not only does this effect the overall outcome of the plot, in a very irritating and unfair way and will probably leave you with no friends, it will ruin the game for everyone. Remember, in RP you have to take some losses from time to time, it makes things far more interesting that way. It might also be worth noting, that had the information been obtained by Player 1 in an RP setting, the potential for an infiltration or strike team mission RP has been completely overlooked. And that makes me a saaaad Yuuzhie.
Obviously I didn't write this. Didn't write this part either:
