Hyllyard City

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

Hyllyard City was a small frontier city on the planet Myrkr. The capital city of Myrkr, Hyllyard was colonized during the end of the Galactic Civil War. It never became very popular, but was nevertheless the largest center of activity on the isolated planet. Hyllyard was home to various smugglers, fugitives and traders during the early years of the New Republic, but was garrisoned by Grand Admiral Thrawn's forces five years after the Battle of Endor.

Mara lands the Shadow on the outskirts of Hyllyard City, just at the edge of the forest. How in the hell am I going to catch the little creatures? She thinks to herself, having never had to actually capture them before.

She unbuckles her restraints and stands. "Stay on the ship, Ben."

Ben quickly unbuckles his restraints and follows her out of the cockpit. "But I want to go with you."

"You're going to stay on this ship with Nanna. Is that clear?" She says as she sets her blaster to stun.

"Yeessssss." He grounds out, clearly unhappy at being left behind. He flops into a seat in the cargo hold.

"Good." Mara lowers the ramp and exits the ship, then raises the ramp back into position and heads out into the forest.

Mara doesn't have to travel deep into the forest when she spots three ysalamiri on a nearby branch. She pulls out her blaster--set for stun so the creatures can be captured but not killed--and aligns her cross hairs on the first ysalamir, then shoots it. It falls off its branch to the forest floor. Repeating the steps, Mara takes down the second two ysalamiri, then puts away her blaster and pulls out her lightsaber. Using the lightsaber, she cuts down three small branches for the ysalamiri to get nutrients from until she can get the nutrient frames.

Mara hauls each branch and ysalamir back to the ramp of the ship, when she hears a low growl coming from the forest. Having trekked through this forest some twenty odd years ago with Luke, Mara knows exactly what that sound is: a wild vornskr. She pulls out her blaster and returns the setting to kill, then goes to investigate the animal.

Finding nothing and assuming the animal went back into the forest, Mara returns to the ship. Ben has lowered the ramp and is standing at the top of it. "I thought I told you to stay on the ship, Ben?"

"I got bored."

"Then help me get these into the cargo hold."

Together they get the first two into the hold with no trouble and are working on the third when Ben stops and points behind Mara into the forest.

"Mom, watch out!"

Mara whips around just as the vornskr is about to pounce and draws her blaster. She fires twice, getting the animal in its chest. It falls to the ground just at the bottom of the ramp.

"Astral!" Ben exclaims.

"Go get strapped in. We're leaving." Mara gets the third ysalamiri into the hold, raises the ramp, and heads for the cockpit.

Once there she fires up the engines and the ship climbs for space.

Feonix made her way through the streets of Hyllyard picking up provisions and supplies from several Docking Bay stores, a General Store and from a health food establishment before stopping in at a local cantina for a bite to eat before heading back to her makeshift camp.
