Takeda follows along quietly, except for a brief chuckle at Tookie's comment. "One of my instructors had the same expression as that one there." he says pointing one that looks particularly grumpy.
As Cait points out the building in the distance, he nods. "It does not look like it is too much farther then."

Tookie follows close behind Cait and Takeda to avoid the the runyips in the slight distance as he walks through the jungle path. Then Tookie hears a slight grunt and stops, he pivots around and sees a young runyip right behind him. The runyip is no more than a 6 months old but is still large. He lets out another grunt and a slight call and begins to sniff the air. Tookie looks down and realizes that the runyip can smell the wild fruit, Tookie thinks nothing of in and kneels down and offers the creature the fruit. The runyip approaches slowly, cautious but hungry, and slowly begins to feed on the fruit from Tookies hand. Tookie has always seemed to be able to get along with animals, little did this self-trained Jedi realize, the Force was at work there.
"Oh, yousa no seemin grumpy." Tookie says as the runyip takes a bite. Tookie turns to look to Cait and Takeda and smiles. "Dissen one be lookin nice."

Cait gives a quiet chuckle when Takeda compares one runyip to one of his instructors. It looks grumpy. Maybe it has had a bad day.
To Takeda. No, not much farther.
Cait turns around when she hears a grunt to see a young runyip following them. She chuckles when Tookie shares his fruit with it.
I think you made a friend Tookie. That maybe but it looks like a youngling. Its mother might not be as friendly. I hope it doesn't try to follow us or there maybe trouble when its mother comes looking for it. Tell it goodbye.
She walks over cautiously and lets it sniff her hand. She talks in a quiet voice, soothing it through the Force. She has always gotten along with other life forms and has done this before. She scratches it gently behind its ear. And says with the Force behind her voice so she can make it understand her.You need to go back to your mom before she misses you. Okay? Go on. Back to mom now.

He shakes his head as he watches the two of them with the juvenile runyip. He considers going up and examining the animal from closer up, but has second thoughts seeing how he is not exactly a non-threatening looking species himself.
As Cait speaks with to the runyip Takeda turns and sniffs the air, there was something earlier on the wind, but he cannot place it. He closes his eyes for a moment and does what Cait had showed him in the pool earlier...

Suddenly, a loud growl comes from the left side and the runyip's mother is not liking the interaction between the Jedi and its child. It stands there and emits another growling call and begins to kick its feet into the ground almost like its getting ready to charge. Tookie looks over and his eyes go wide at the size of the mother runyip. He sounds slightly nervous and he tries his best not to all out panic. "Wesa in big doodoo mesa tinks."

Cait looks up when she hears the loud growl coming from the young runyip's mother. I was afraid something like this was going to happen. It is wise never to get between a mother and its young. You said it Tookie. Very Big. I think she may be getting ready to charge.
Now, Tookie I want you back away slowly from the runyip. I will follow you when you are clear. Takeda can you make sure we have a clear path in case we have to run for it? Cait's voice is calm. Whatever you do remain calm. Only run if she actually charges.

Takeda opens his eyes, and sees the snorting mama runyip. Turning his head to look behind them, he makes sure there is a clear path for him. He looks up and Yavin has provided plenty of safety for the other two if it comes to it.
Also in a calm voice, he tells them "Go ahead, get yourselves clear and past me. Chances are she will forget about the two of you once your past me... I have a habit of getting the most attention from animals."

"Ah, hisen mighten be right." Tookie says quietly as he rises from his knee and backs up slowly. The mother runyip is still putting on her threat display for the group and does a faux-charge and runs towards the group for about five steps before stopping and grunting loudly. Tookie moves back slowly and raises a hand in the direction of the mother runyip.
"Wesa not gonna be crunchin yousa baby, wesa meanie no harms." Tookie says towards the creature, not realizing that he is opening up to the Force and calming the animal where it stands. The mother runyin walks closer to its baby as Tookie continues to back up passed Takeda. Tookie taps Takeda's shoulder as he passes the Kwa and motions for him to start falling back. "Comie, yousa mighten not wantin to bees in front of dat if she be changin her minds and gettin madden again."

Thank you Takeda. I hope it won't be necessary. Cait suppresses a chuckle but grins. I think you would get their attention, alright. They don't see a giant blue lizard person every day. *winks* Just don't do anything rash, alright?
Cait waits until Tookie back off before she slowly backs up too. She send out calming thoughts through the Force to the mother runyip. She gives the young runyip a nudge through the Force toward its mother. That's it young one go to mom. Easy mom we don't want to harm your young one. He is fine.
When she draws level with Takeda she says softly, Back up Takeda. As long as she doesn't think we are a threat she won't charge. And Tookie is right you don't want to be around if she decides to charge. As long as we are leaving and she doesn't feel threatened she won't follow us.

He slowly steps backwards along with Cait, his face still turned off to the side. "I'm not so much worried about her as the thing over that way. There is something predatory there, I can smell it and I can feel it. I am mainly concerned about if we take off running form this sow we will either get its attention, or run right into it." after a few more meters he is convinced the sow will not charge them. She has her calf, and if she is as normal as most forms of herbivore she will want to get it and herself back to the rest of the small group.
"Can you sense what I am talking about, or am I conflicting my sense of the force with my other perceptions."

As the mother runyip and its child march off, Tookie backs up and as soon as he feels its safe he stands up and turns to Cait. He laughs nervously and rubs the back of his head. "Oh, muy muy, dat was close."
Tookie wasn't really expecting that much excitement so soon, this exploration of the forest is turning to be fun. Standing there for a moment, Tookie points off to a strange leafy bright blue bush. "Oh, lookie lookie!"

Cait slowly backs up but stops and glances at Takeda when he mentions that he can sense and smell something predatory close by. Indeed? In what direction from here?
She reaches out through the Force and also senses something close by.
Yes, something is there. My guess whatever it is either after the runyip herd or perhaps whisper birds or woolamanders. No, I would say rather that the Force is enhancing your other perceptions. Most predators are dangerous and Yavin as more than its share of them. And not all of them are large either. Stintarils and Piranha Beetles come to mind as well Howlers.
Meanwhile the runyip mother and youngster have rejoined their herd.
To Tookie. Too close, Tookie. When Tookie says "Oh, lookie, lookie" She turns to look at what he is pointing to.
That's a blueleaf shrub, Tookie. It's harmless. Its leaves are edible and they smell good too.

Takeda shakes his head, "I do not think I want to be hanging around here too long though especially if there is something stalking that herd." He starts to move forward towards the direction Cait pointed out earlier and then looks back over his shoulder.

I would have to agree I don't want to run into anything that would take on a herd of runyips if I can avoid it. She follows Takeda down the path toward the Woolamander Palace. She glances back at Tookie. You coming Tookie?

As they move along Takeda notes a good number of the exotic lifeforms around on this planet, he somewhat chuckles to himself as they near the palace. "It never occurred to me quite how different each planet is until now. While I have been on a good number of planets, well... star-ports, cantinas, warehouses, and hangars look pretty much all the same no matter where you go. I never realy get out and "see" the planets, never any time."
