A Brief guide to the flora and fauna of Yavin IV. Animals and plants that you might in encounter in and around the jungles of Yavin. This guide is to help you identify them and what you need to know when you encounter them.Red=dangerousYellow=possibly dangerous caution neededBlue=harmless or benignGreen=plantsAngler Designation: Non-sentient, harmless The Angler is a multi-ocular crustacean mollusk that is brown in color.
The Angler "fishes" for underwater prey by dangling root-like tentacle-claws below the water's surface.
Not usually dangerous except to mucous salamanders.Aquatic Gundark Designation: Non-sentient, dangerous predatorNot a true gundark. So named because of its similarly vicious, surly temperament to true Gundarks.
They have multiple eyes, making them capable of seeing below and above water simultaneously. They are medium sized creatures that prey on smaller animals. Among them runyips and whisper birds. They are considered very dangerous predators, extreme caution is advised around them.Armored eel Designation: Non-sentient It resides in the rivers of the moon's jungle. It is just one of many eel species found throughout the galaxy. Newly discovered species not much is known about it. Approach with caution. Belly-bird Designation:UnknownNot much is known about these creatures other than their name. Approach with caution.Blueleaf shrub Designation: Non-sentient plant, edibleThey are known for their ability to encroach even on cleared spaces. They are edible. When crushed, they gave off a spicy scent.Crawlfish Designation: Non-sentient, harmless, edible Crawlfish are aquatic creatures. Harmless, they can grow up to a meter in length, and are covered in chitin. They can be eaten. Crystal Snake Designation: Non-sentient, can be dangerous but not usually aggressive Crystal snakes are a poisonous reptile native to Yavin 4. Though the venom that crystal snakes secretes when they bite is nonlethal, it can be extremely dangerous, since the victim will fall into an hour-long deep sleep.
The crystal snake has curiously translucent flesh that, with the naked eye under typical lighting conditions, could barely be seen. One sign that a crystal snake is present would be the small shimmer of light that is reflected off its scales, or its deep black eyes. Howler Designation: Non-sentient, dangerous predator Howlers have a green skin, with an orange-yellow head, yellow eyes, an orange dorsal spines and a red tail. Howlers are somewhat reptilian in appearance. They usually crawl on all four limbs, but sometimes when charging, leaping, and clawing, they use two legs for mobility.
They got their name from their method of attack, which is howling loud enough to stun their prey.
Howlers are predators. They are considered very dangerous. Massassi tree Designation: Non-sentient plantMassassi trees are purple-barked trees native to Yavin 4. They are capable of reaching 200 meters in height. They were named after the ancient civilization, the Massassi, that once inhabited the moon. Mucous salamander(also known as pinkish salamander) Designation: Non-sentient, harmless Mucous salamanders are amphibians native to the bogs of Yavin 4. They possess the distinct ability to diffuse their molecular structures underwater, which allow them to swim faster and pass through hunters' nets. When entering dry areas, it can change its molecular structure into hardened scales for protection from predators, particularly the angler. Considered harmless.Nebula Orchid Designation: Non-sentient plantNebula orchids have woody, lanky roots and flowers colored with brilliant swirls. When their vines are severed, they will writhe and leak the plant's deep purple sap. A short time later, the vines will stop writhing and start to contract. Piranha Beetle Designation: Non-sentient, carnivorous insect, Extremely Dangerous Piranha beetles are colorfully-shelled carnivorous insects. Though they are only three centimeters long, when gathered in large swarms they can kill much larger prey by eating the flesh directly off living beings.
Piranha beetle swarms build hives made from chewed vegetation and saliva in the treetops. Each hive has a queen that leads the hive's reproductive and food-gathering activities.
DANGER FROM THESE LIFEFORMS IS EXTREME! Don't go anywhere near them if they smell blood they will attack immediately and they attack anything living or dead."One bit me, then at the smell of blood the others swarmed over me." ¯Bevel LemeliskRunyip Yavin IV Designation: Non-sentient, general harmless herbivoresNot true runyips which are herbivores native to Tran Mariel. Runyips of Yavin VI are named "runyip" because of similar appearance and grumpy temperament to the Tran Mariel runyips.
Yavinian runyips have claws on their toes which they used to dig for food and live in holes. They have brown and green fur, white spotty tails, long ears and semi-prehensile noses.
They feed on decomposing forest mulch and in shallows of streams, rivers, and lakes. They do this by using their flexible lips and three clawed feet for sifting through dirt. They emit loud grunts, squawks, squeals, and sighs as they feed.
True runyip from Tran Mariel
True runyips are known for the stubbornness, but are still commonly used a pack animals on frontier worlds. They possess long ears and a long, bifurcated trunk to grab vegetation. Runyips are capable of carrying heavy loads (up to 250 kilograms in normal circumstances, and up to 500 in emergencies) and of traversing uneven terrain, with a top speed of 27 kilometers per hour. Rebel SpecForce troopers were also known to use them to carry equipment. Stinger lizard Designation: UnknownStinger lizards are rarely seen and have an unusual green and red coloring. Not much else is known about them. Approach with caution.Stintaril Designation: Non-sentient,dangerous predatory rodents Stintarils are a species of rapacious rodents. They dwell in the mid-to-upper levels of the jungle canopy. They have sharp teeth that can easily puncture and hold on to their prey with a knobby hairless tail that is used for balance. They are not particularly dangerous when alone but they usually travel in large groups. These rodents attack in swarms, and are known for their great speed. They are nomadic and, as such, are constantly on the move; even their young, born in litters of four or five, were born in transit.
Their prey mainly consists of Woolamander and Whisper birds. They have an extremely high metabolism and they have to eat often or risk starving to death within a few hours. Hungry Stintarils have been known to turn on their own kind as a last resort, cannibalizing the weaker among them in order to survive.
These Rodents are EXTREMELY DANGEROUS when they swarm. If you are alone and see a swarm of these rodents RUN! Thyrsl Designation: UnknownThyrsls are serpentine animals with twelve legs and spots. Not much is known about them. Approach with caution.Whisper bird Designation: Non-sentient, harmless[/i] Native avian species known for their radiant plumage. They gained their name due to their seemingly noiseless flight. They use their dexterous tongue to emit a sweet, low-pitched song or call.
Whisper birds are at home in both in the trees and water. They would go quietly when they desire food. Their diet consists of fish and weeds, as well nectar funnels that grow on vines. They are prey to stintarils and other predators. Woolamander Designation: Non-sentient, usually harmless Woolamanders are curious social creatures that live in Massassi trees. Males can often be heard belting out morning vocalizations with their baggy throat pouches. Caring and kind, Woolamander females give birth to one young per litter. Safe in their mothers' powerful front claws, babies will become members of troops numbering 20 individuals.
They feed on fruit that would ferment in their rotund pot-bellies.
Most woolamander fur is colored blue and gold, though there are some troops whose fur is bright purple or dark green.
Woolmander green fur subspecies
They enjoy pelting debris at moving targets below but are generally harmless.
Woolamanders are prey to piranha beetles and stintarils.
A temple in the forests of Yavin 4 seems to have been erected in respect to the Woolamander species, earning itself the name Palace of the Woolamander due to the variety of statues and stone carvings created in their likeness. The creatures seem to be unusually protective of the structure and are known to attack anyone who gets too close to it.
The bones of the Harrower subspecies of Woolmander is said to be excellent material for making armor, especially Reinforced Insulated Sheath armor.
These creatures are generally harmless but sometimes can be annoying when they throw things.Immigrated species Sith wyrm Designation: Non-sentient, Extremely dangerous, now extinct on Yavin IV The Sith wyrm was a massive creature that lived on the the fourth moon of Yavin in large subterranean lairs.
The Sith wyrm was actually an exogorth(see Exogorth) altered through Sith alchemy by the Dark Lord of the Sith Naga Sadow and designed as a guardian. It was learned later that the creature was originally an infant exogorth that had attached itself to Sadow's battleship. It was killed by Exar Kun.
As the Sith wyrms were later hunted by the Jedi during the Great Hunt, it is evident that the creature was not the only one of his kind.Exogorth are also known as "space slugs".
(A gigantic species of toothed gastropod. They are silicon-based lifeforms that survive in the vacuum of space by making their homes in the caverns and craters of asteroids. They feed on the minerals of asteroids, various stellar energy fields, and mynocks. The average adult space slug grow to about 10 meters in length, but some slugs have been known to continuously grow to sizes that rivaled capital ships in sheer bulk, with some weighing over a million kilograms.) Terentatek (Jedi Killers) Designation: Non-sentient, ULTRA EXTREME DANGERTerentatek are creatures which feed off the blood of Force-sensitives, and inhabit caves and tombs that are strong with the dark side of the Force. Terentatek resemble rancors, except they have a number of spines growing from their backs and a pair of flaps, or tusk-like projections attached to their mouths. They also have massive claws (three to a hand). The tusks and claws of a Terentatek are highly venomous. And a terentatek's hide is immune to effects of the Force. Several guarded the entrance to a section of Naga Sadow's tomb. They are thought to be extinct on Yavin VI.
If you see one of these creatures leave the area immediately and notified those in authority. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO KILL IT ALONE.
Even several Jedi working together will find killing one of these creatures is very difficult. Do not try to kill these creatures on your own.
They are the UTMOST DANGER to Jedi. They were bred to kill Jedi. They are so powerful and dangerous to the Jedi, that they were nicknamed Jedi Killers. Tuk'ata(Sith hound) Designation:Semi-sentient, EXTREMELY DANGEROUS They are gigantic creatures. They have glowing red eyes with triple rows of teeth, six inch claws, and three horns. They can move on four legs or two. They have two winglike extensions--not functional wings, but with poisonous stingers. They are very fast. They are intelligent.
These creatures are Force-sensitive and were used for thousands of years to guard the tombs of the Dark Lords of the Sith on Korriban.
They are fearless and will kill anything that enters their territory. They are semi-sentient and can speak the Sith language.
Be very careful when encountering these creatures. If you don't feel that you can't handle them retreat immediately.Races Of Yavin IV SEE RACESNative Races Critokian Designation: SentientNon-Native Races Chazrach also known as reptoids Designation: Sentient (Yuuzhan Vong slave race) no longer on Yavin IVYuuzhan Vong Designation: Sentient no longer on Yavin IVMassassi Designation: Sentient (sub-species of the ancient Sith) Extinct on Yavin IVHumans Designation: Sentient 95% of populationVarious other Races make up the other 5% of population.

-Rolo's ship touched down on ground in the middle of the Forest. The Spot Rolo decided to land was filled with vegetation and trees that seemed to touch the sky. He looked around from the cockpit of his ship and headed towards the exit. As he exited his personal ship he was greeted by small winds that blew past him and the smell of bark, which was recognizable since his trip to the wookies homeworld.-
This looks like a nice place for exploring. -Rolo grapped his bag and headed out-

-Rolo walked for a mile into the jungle. It seemed peaceful, but that was yet to be seen. He's heard stories of Jedi and Sith who have come into this jungle and never returned. He has even heard that Tuk' ata packs have been seen around these forests. He took a few steps forward and heard something snap from behind, a branch probably. His saver flew to his hands and he turned backwards activating his lightsaver revealing the green luminous blade. To his surprise it was only his bodyguard droid Garth a Magnaguard droid he rebuilt when he was young.-
Garth what are you doing here. You were to stay back on the ship.
-Garth stood there, his elctrostaff powered down and by his side.- I am sorry Master Rolo, but my function is to assist and protect you.
-Rolo looked at him and continued on his path- Fine, but dont fall behind.
-The droid nodded its head- I assure you that wont be an issue master.

Master Rolo, I do believe it is getting awfully late and we should return to the ship.- Garth said as he started to turn back and stopped. He awaited for Rolo to move on ahead.-
Yes your right, we should head back to the ship. You know what scares me the most. -Rolo said with a grin-
What?- Garth said as they walked back.
You sound like C-3PO. -He said as he laughed.-
That is terrifying. -Garth replied.-
-They arrived to his ship and entered. The ship took off and left the forest.-

-Rolo returned to the Jungle now that he shut down Garth and was able to freely explore the jungle. He leaves his ship and checks the battery on his lightsaver. He turns it on revealing and emerald light.-
This should last me for the day, unless if i run into any trouble. -He placed his lightsaver on his belt clip and grabbed his bag. It was light, probably due to the things he brought which was mainly bread and some water. He walked towards the trees entering the jungle.-

-He felt he was in a maze. He would make turns after turns and often was led to a stop. He caught sight of some creatures, but decided not to bother them or confront them till he got more intel on them. On some of the creatures he didn't need information on. From first glance they looked to be dangerous and if approached they might rip him into pieces before he could strike first.-
Damn my stomach hurts. -He sat down on and leaned in the trunk of the nearest tree to rest for a while. he grabbed his bag and pulled out something to eat.-

-He finished his lunch and got up from sitting. He stretched his arms out and heard his com beep. It was a message from his sister. He decided not to read it, fearing if it was urgent he would have to leave the jungle.-
There was no disturbance in the Force so that would mean nothing is wrong, or that im not picking up anything -he said as he continued on his path.-
What am i doing here anyways -Rolo stopped to think about the situation he was in.-
I came here to relieve the stress i have from training, now that i got that over my shoulders, why am i returning. -He crossed his arms and continued to walk-
Oh well I'll just find out as I go along -he sigh-

Cait cautiously enters the jungle and makes her way toward the Woolamander Palace.
After about an hour of dodging some pretty hostile wildlife Cait finally reaches the outskirts of the Woolamander Palace.

*Sac wonders out into the forest then climbs a tree to one of the higher branches and he sits down thinking somebody was after his family and he didn't like it one bit. Sac was glad he got Lily to stick with Sam on this trip. His mind begins to stir as he meditates restlessly. Any force user could tell he was worried about something*

Luke and Mara head into the jungle. Luke stretches out with the Force, looking for a force-sensitive individual, while Mara uses the Force to be on guard for predators and such. She has her lightsaber out but not activated.
"Any idea where he might be Farmboy, or are we just going to wander around, " she winks.
"I'm sure he went this way. It shouldn't be much further" replies Luke. Finally he gets a lock on him. A few more twists and turns, and they stop under a tree. Both Luke and Mara are able to sense just how worried he is through the Force.
"Sac, it's Luke and Mara. You want to come down and talk about it."
They wait for his answer.

*Sac looks down only seeing tiny dots that represent Luke and Mara. He was glad he didn't have a fear of heights. Sam jumps down using the force to slow his decent. He stand straight and flashes a warm smile.* Master Luke it's always a pleasure to see you. *Sac greets Mara in the same manner*
Things have been happening recently that makes me worried for my family. I got a message from the Black Sun claiming they want me back to claim my old status as Vigo. I refuse to. They haven't heard my reply but they or somebody else made contact with my son about the same thing. The want him to either replace me or turn me in to them. The last option is to kill off the family. Well My son after the message was confronted by somebody that throws off the entire thing. He interegated the man "Athena Still" (best way I can describe it) and only got his name and who he might work for. Black Sun doesn't give any information out even on their death bed. I sense there is something going on at my Son's location and things may just get hairier....
*Sac sighs* I don't know if my past is coming back to haunt me and my family. My son is Imperial like I was and if the black sun is trying to harm my family or recruit Imperial officials then thats a war about to go off.
