The Apartment of Luke and Mara Jade Skywalker

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

Mara drags herself out of bed, then drags herself into the kitchen, beeline for the caf dispenser. Having set its timer the night before, the caffeinated beverage is ready to go. She pours herself a mug and adds some sweetener. While drinking the caf, Mara reads the note left on the countertop. The Shadow would be able to make the jump to those coordinates in a decent amount of time.

With each sip of the caf, Mara becomes more and more awake, until she is capable of verbal communication. She heads for the living room where Luke has been sitting and stops in the doorway. "So you think we should leave tonight? Artoo should be able to prep the Shadow while we're in the council meeting." She pauses a moment. "What should we do with Ben?"

[Luke Skywalker]

"It's a short jump, we can leave right after the Council meeting. That's not a problem." Luke studies for a minute.

"Hhhhmmmmm what to do about Ben? We could leave him here with a nanny droid and one of the force sensitive caretakers. With a Temple full of Jedi, he should be safe. What do you think?"

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

Mara takes a minute to consider before answering. She is not completely comfortable leaving Ben, but at the same time if she has to stay in this apartment much longer, she's going to start using the furniture...and Luke...as target practice. She's a fighter, and she craves action.

"Maybe we could ask Nick or Cait to look in on him a couple of times each day, make sure he hasn't destroyed his nanny droid." She smiles at the thought and then turns to leave. "I'm going to start packing."

Mara enters the bedroom and throws a couple of combat suits in a bag. She doesn't pack much in the way of clothes, she still has things aboard the Shadow. She does, however, open up her small armory and empties the entire contents into the travel bag. The armory has everything from concussion grenades to EMPs to slugthrowers.

Zipping up the bag she is ready to go.

"That sounds like a good idea. If they are unable to do it, maybe we can persuade Winter to come and stay a few days," says Luke as he heads into the bedroom. He packs a non-descript outfit, and traditional Jedi robes. He also packs a spare of the traditional black outfit he is wearing. He puts on his holster and Blas Tech DL-44 blaster, as well as his lightsaber. He packs his shoto in the hidden compartment of the bag. Finally he packs his black cloak on top and easy to get to.

"Well, I think I'm ready. Artoo, go ahead and head to the Shadow and start pre-flight checks. Anything else you can think of Red?"

[Luke Skywalker]

The force-sensitive care-giver arrives to watch over Ben while Luke and Mara are at the meeting. Luke and Mara head over to Council Chambers.

Mara walks briskly through the halls of the residence quarters towards their apartment with her travel bag slung over her shoulder. After what seemed like centuries, she arrives at the door and punches in her access code.

Upon entering she heads straight for Ben's room where she can hear him playing. She opens his door to find him in the middle of a mountain of toys, oblivious to the world. Grinning foolishly she announces, "Hi, Ben! I'm home."

"Mama!" Ben springs up out of his mountain and runs to her, and she bends down to his level and scoops him up in her arms.

Kissing his hair and hugging him tight she says, "I missed you."

"Miss you too," he says, then looks over her shoulder. "Where Daddy?"

"He had to unload some things from the ship, but he'll be along in a little while." She looks around his room at the toys scattered everywhere. Mara grabs a nearby toy and they play until Luke returns.

Luke senses joy from within the apartment as he enters. He makes a hiveline straight for Ben's room, where he finds Ben and Mara playing.

"Hey big guy, how you doing?"

Luke scoops the toddler up as he yells, "Daddy!" Luke hugs him and gives him a kiss. "So what does everyone want to do for lunch?"

"I think that anything YOU cook would be great," she grins evilly. "Did you find out anything about the holocrons? I am curious and may go down to the library later."

[Luke Skywalker]

"How about bantha and nerf cold cuts sandwiches and veggie slices?" Luke says as he starts setting the table. He gets everything out of the fridge including condiments and dip, and spreads it out on the table. He cuts up a slice of nerf meat for Ben, gets some veggies and dip, and sets it before him with dew melon juice. "There you go big guy. What do you want on your sandwich Red?"

While waiting for her answer, "I only looked at one holocron today. It had Master Odan-Urr and battle meditation on it. I'm anxious to get back and look some more."

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

"I want nerf slices and lettuce on mine. Maybe I'll go with you when you go back to the holocrons."

[Luke Skywalker]

"Alrighty," Luke makes the sandwich and passes the plate to her with veggie slices and dip. "Here you go."

Luke sets about making his sandwich of nerf meat, lettuce, onion and mayo. He gets some of the veggies and dip. He decides to have some dew melon juice too, and pours himself a glass.

Luke takes a bite of his sandwich, and says between chewing, "I'm going to get a shower before heading back down there. I'll make sure it is a quick one."

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

"Okay. Take your time." Mara takes a bite out of her sandwich. "Mm, thanks for the sandwich, farmboy."

[Luke Skywalker]

"You're welcome," Luke manages between bites. Turns out he was hungrier than he thought. Then he remembers that they skipped breakfast except for a ration bar.

"You want another sandwich, or more veggies and dip?"

[Mara Jade Skywalker]

Mara puts the last bite of her sandwich in her mouth and shakes her head, then takes a drink of her water. "I think I might eat the rest of Ben's veggies since someone didn't finish them." She reaches forward and tickles Ben's sides, eliciting a squeal from him.

[Luke Skywalker]

"Ok, I'll put everything away, then grab a quick shower. Then we can check out the holocrons." Luke begins putting the cold cuts, veggies, and condiments away. Once this is finished, he grabs a quick shower and returns dressed in his usual black jedi outfit.
