Kessendra was the capital of Kessel. Locations in Kessendra included Kessendra Stadium, Spice Mines Avenue and Slave Lord Boulevard.
Kessel was the only source of glitterstim spice, a valuable drug used both therapeutically and recreationally.

Feonix sees the busy streets of Kessendra on one side and rocky mountains on the other. She can just make out a mine on the other side of the mountains, “That must be the main mine, being so close to the city.” Thought Feonix. “Now, how do I get in there?” Feonix decides to land close to the mountains. It should be a natural shield from the guards surrounding the mine. She lands her ship and gets her gas mask on. “Stay with the ship.” She tells R3. “This won’t be safe for you. When I come back it will be with my mother.” Soon she is in the city and walks along a street called, Slave Boulevard. “Well, with a name like…” she said and searched for a local club where thieves and gamblers alike gathered. She was in luck there seemed to be as many as far as the eye could see. Feonix picked one and entered. “Twistler.” She told the droid at the bar as she took a seat. She didn’t have to wait long for the men to be interested in her. Her long, black hair flowed over her smooth shoulders and cascaded down to the middle of her chest. “Hello.” Said a voice next to her, “What brings a gorgeous woman like you to a dive like this?” “Looking for a thief. Know of any?” She smirked. “I might. Might even be me.” He smirked back. “And, depends on the job you have in mind.” “I need to get into the mine unnoticed then escape unseen.” She snipped. “I don’t have time to chat. Do you want the job or not?” “What, no dinner?” he laughed. But Feonix didn’t look pleased. I”ll pay you 25,000 credits. Yes or no?” The man thought, “Will I get killed?” “You might.” He pondered a minute, “Sounds good. I’m in. How do you think you’ll get passed the shield generator?” “YOU are going to disable it and give me enough time to get in and out.” The thief laughed, “Sure. No problem.” “Good. Let’s go.” She said and shot back her drink before dropping credits down on the counter and heading for the door. The thief just gazed upon her as she walked away then took a strong breath and followed her out. “I need to get a map of the inside of the mines. How do I get one?” Feonix asked. “Well, you are in luck, I have a friend who has one. It’ll cost you.” “Fine. Fine. Just get it.” And she handed him 5,000 credits, “That should be enough. Now hurry.” “Wait here.” He said and left for a few minutes. Upon his return he had a map and they were off. “I’ll shoot the shield generator with an ion cannon I had made for my ship. “Never thought I’d get to use it though.” He whispered as they went to his ship. “Once you are in you’ll only have five minutes before they shut the mines and you’ll be trapped in there forever or until you die.” “Understood.” She said and threw him the credits she promised, “Thank you.” She added then headed for the mines where she waited for him to disable the shield generator.

Feonix couldn’t believe her fortune but she remained vigilant. Her help was a thief after all. This plan could fall apart at any second but she hoped it would work, just the same. Then she heard the sound of an ion cannon slamming into an object. She saw guards running around frantically. Then the sounds of sirens blaring and she knew it was time. She stood and bolted for the mines’ entrance. She scampered inside, found a somewhat secluded area and grabbed the map. Finding her exit points, Feonix began to look for her mother. She ran into cell block after cell block looking for her. Every one lead her deeper and deeper into the mine. Prisoners were running around her yelling and searching for the way out. She used them as her cloak to pass the guards. When a guard would head directly for her she would use Force push to smash him against a wall, knocking him out. Feonix came to another cell thinking she would not find anyone. But she did. And it was her mother, or the form of her mother. This woman was so feeble and she saw she was barely alive. “Mother.” She whispered, “its me. Feonix.” And she took her mother up into her arms and began the journey toward an escape tunnel. She stayed along the walls, hiding in the shadows. She used Force push anytime a guard got on her tail. She dashed through a passageway heading upward, holding a hint of light. The light grew bigger and bigger. “Almost there, mom. Hold on.” She charged out of the deep dark mine and into the blistering sunlight above. She felt her mother’s body go limp and her mother groaned. “Mother?” she sadly asked, “Mother?” “Feonix?” her mother replied under her breath, “Feonix?” “Stay with me, mom.” “Feee….I…..luuu…..I…….love you.” She whimpered near death. “I’m going to save you mom.” Feonix tried to hold back the tears but it was too late. Her mother was gone. Her blood began to boil and all she could hear was the sound of her heartbeat in her ears and feel the anger in her veins rise. She stood, holding her mother’s lifeless body and started to run for her ship behind the mountains. She only had minutes to get to her ship before the guards would see her and give chase. She hustled, arms aching, legs shaking to the Eta 2. She placed her mother carefully next to her, “R3 take us home, but hurry. We might have company.” R3 started the ship’s engines, and took off from the land below. Immediately “Etta” disappeared into a cloud of dust and bolted into orbit, having left a mess of prisoners escaping and guards giving chase.
