The planet is protected by a encasing shields, prohibiting friendly fire from beneath the shield except through small gaps. Encasing shields could be curved to protect orbiting objects and seriously damaged the systems of craft that passed through them.

A orbital long range scanner orbits the planet, it can detect ships in hyperspace over many light years' distance, providing advance warning of approaching enemy fleets.

Around the Jedi Temple are 5 air defense towers that can take down many threats ranging from marauding swoop bikes to low-flying starfighters with relative ease.

10 miles out are 3 w-165 planetary turbolaser each powerful enough to blast an Imperial-class Star Destroyer into pieces with a single volley. The platform on which it rested on, which is 150 meters in diameter, contained the defensive systems, as well as room for the crew of nearly 50 people and the 50 meter-diameter reactor core, which generated enough power to allow the weapon to shoot once each 10 seconds.
