Good, I will help as well. I like working with living things. Indeed it does. And it will be good practice for them as well.
*Cate takes a bite of a nachos and thinks.*
Well I think where ever you want it. It is not like we don't have the room to put it anywhere we want and need to conserve space.
True but there is still the stress from missions. I'm glad Luke decided to move off Coruscant. I like it here better than there. Though I understand we why moved there in the first place. This is much better. I don't know why he picked Yavin over Tython. He must have had a good reason.
Good point. We kind of gotten out of the habit. We need to talk to the others and find out when it is a good time for them. We might want to wait until after Turkey day though.
Hmmm... we need healers definitely. But we might need the Rowdies again as well. There is something coming. I can feel it. And I think we will need them to be rebuilt as well. Which do you think?
*Then a sudden thought occurs to her.*
Rebuilding the Rowdies... Could Grainne do it with your supervision?

"Well, possibly, Mara and I, as you know, were the original Rowdies. Our basic mission overview was do stuff the shadows could not for various reasons, not enough clearance authority to operate etc. Then Liana formed the second unit, they were the ones that came up with the logo. Mara and I never did like the pink but it was there unit. Liana, Gran, Ithi and Glow's mission was basically the same with more diplomatic functions.
The Rowdies are what they need to be when they need to be it. We've eliminated the issue of the Rowdie's work outside Shadow parameters as Pappy is head of the Shadows now so their actions won't be questioned unless they break mission parameters and even then circumstances will be taken into account.
Intelligence gathering was always their specialty. Always will be. They were good at what they did and the first requirement of a rowdy was absolute loyalty to the Order's commanders. Right now, that's you and Luke. the only time a Rowdy has the right to turn on the Order's leadership is when that leadership is clearly in question. That's why I was so upset at Ithi when she publicly denounced Luke's actions after her first Council meeting.
First due to her lack of professionalism in publicly disagreeing with the decision of the Council, it reminded me too much of Anikin, but also because it broke one of the main tenants of being a Rowdy and the others had every right to bounce her as such after that actually.
I'm glad the situation was resolved but it caused a deep rift between us for quite some time. Especially as I knew things Ithi did not and was not authorized to have knowledge of in the first place. I broke my word as a Shadow and told her and her tune changed quickly enough but the damage was done.
It's one of the reasons I'm so careful about who I agree should be on the Council. Personal issues should be kept such in Council and no Council member should ever betray the trust of the council by publicly disagreeing with the rules they help pass."
She sighs, realizes she's being preachy and shrugs. "the Rowdies are needed but we need to be very careful about who we chose. Angie and Dawn would have been terrible fits and proved that by betraying the Order after being turned down for positions in the unit.
I'm sure that's exactly why Dawn turned to the dark side and started working for Lady Zhanna and I'm also sure she'd have likely turned anyways." she shrugs. "It's not an easy fit, the team has to work well together and be loyal to each other, the Order and obedient to their directives.

*As Gert explains the history and functions of the Rowdies, Cate listens with a serious expression on her face. She nods as she listens her nachos momentarily forgotten.*
I knew some of this though I didn't know the extent of their work. But then the Rowdies were all but disbanded by the time I was made a council member so there was no need for me to know. Intelligence gathering....
*Her expression is thoughtful.*
Yes, we definitely still need that.
Yes, I agree personal issue should be resolved outside of council not dragged into it. If you have issue with you should try to resolve between you first if you can't then take it to someone higher up but not in Council.
I would have to agree we need people of good character, dependable. Someone we know can be trusted. Too many have gone too the darkside.
*Shakes her head and sighs.*
Too many lost their way.

"Well, it's important for you to know now because you are Luke's right hand and in charge while he's away as he is now.
I've wanted to go over this with you in the past but just didn't seem to have the time and then there's the whole how do you explain a unit which according to Order records, did not exist.
A new Rowdy team would need a couple of very specific things. An absolutely loyal leader. Teammates who are absolutely loyal to her and take orders without question, and extreme skills in intelligence gathering. This includes the ability to appear a dim but find out what needs to be found out, a willingness to eat crow over something your ordered to do.. IE, my mission to deal with Mioti's behavior that ran amok, and last but not least, good team skills for all members including a willingness to recognize the authority of senior Rowdies who probably know more than you.
It's a unique combination and I've not seen a group of women that's fit the bill in the Order in some time. Perhaps we will again soon but we can't rely on them just showing up.. though technically.. that's exactly what we did."
She scarfs down a couple bites of her now room temperature pie and sips her caf.
"Half a brain doesn't hurt things either actually."

True.
*Her expression thoughtful.*
*sighs* I wish he was back. His being gone like this worries me. I hope he isn't in trouble.
Yes, things were hectic there for awhile.
*chuckles.*
There is that. That would be a problem. How you bring up an unit that doesn't exist. Especially when you weren't suppose to talk about it.
*Cate listens to the requirements and nods.*
But we should at least be on the look out for possible candidates. Then nurture them a long with the thought of having them be a possible Rowdy. Give them assignments to test them. See how they handle situations that a Rowdy would have to be able to handle in the field. So we can shift out the ones who wouldn't be suitable.
As you say someone like that doesn't just drop out of the sky or walk into the room.
*Cate then chuckles at Gert's half a brain comment.*
Well I sometimes think that is Jedi qualification.

*He quietly walks into the Cafe and sees Gert and Cate sitting at a table. He smiles and walks over to them and sits down. He pulls out his datapad.* Hello you two. I've just been looking at the construction and I am glad to report that it's almost complete. *He orders a glass of iced tea.*

*Kevin walks into the tapcaf and waves to Cait*
Hey Cait, how's it going?
*He then orders himself a glass of blue milk and sits down to tune his guitar*

She nods an affirmative and greets Nick then Kevin. Turning back to Cait she says, "That's how Liana got recruited. I'm worried about Luke too but I'm not getting any sense from him that he's particularly in danger, just that he's too far away to communicate."
She smiles. "It will be fine, you'll see. Aside from that, we DO have records of our missions, or I did anyways. I did report to the Shadow office after Mioti died but the official report wasn't really what happened. In my report, I blamed myself for not being sufficiently prepared. What really happened was I was under orders to make sure the kid learned to behave like a Jedi or leave the Order. He was making the Order look very bad during some tricky negotiations with other force using factions. Prime wanted the kid dead, so did most of the rest of the GG. Lighty tried to intervene as he had some loyalty to Mara and I but in the end, the kid chose his own path.
It's just a shame Zhanna was so easily able to pull the wool over so many Jedi's eyes about what really happened when everyone should have considered asking Mara what happened.
I'm the one that chose to take the fall for the whole thing to protect Mara's reputation as Grand Master. But it wasn't her fault either. She was set up too.

Hello Nick. That is good news. We were just talking about the Infirmary and the lab. When do you think we will be up and running? Oh that reminds me do you need to order anything I'm making a supplies list.
*She hands him her datapad.*
Gert has already made some suggestions. She highlighted the things we need most in green. Those that can wait in red.
*Waves to Kevin*
Hi Kevin.

*He nods to Kevin as he enters and then takes the datapad from Cate when she hands it to him. He takes a look at it and notes the key items on it. He then hands it back to her.* Well, I'll probably need top-of-the-art lab equipment, especially if I'm gonna be researching that spore foam thing. And also whatever else you can think of. *He takes a drink of his tea after it arrives.* Well, the Temple construction is nearly completed and the droids will commence building of the Infirmary and the lab. So, by the end of the week tops. I hope. *He grins slightly.*

"You know, in retrospect, I think Zhanna would have been far more effective had she known the Grand Master herself gave that order. I think if I had to chose between a whopping and dead I'd probably pick the whooping.
I guess people expected I could somehow get the kid away scott free but he'd gotten too far in over his head and saving him would have been unlikely even had I not gotten a com to leave the negotiations.
Just the fact that he kept leaving the safety of the Temple against direct orders should have been a clear indication that he had no intention of turning himself around."

*Cate gives a sad sigh at the mention of Mioti.*
That was an awful situation. He got in way over his head. That was not going to end well no matter what you did Gert. You kept it from getting worse.
Well, Zhanna did that to everyone. She fooled all of us.
*To Nick*
Of course, on top of the list. Good the sooner the better. I think we will be needing it soon. With trainning classes starting up.
*To Kevin.*
It's going good Kevin. How are the Grey's doing?

*He nods his head and listens to her.* Well, I'll supervise construction of the Infirmary and Lab and our infirmary offices myself. Just to make sure they're properly the way we want them. *He pauses and thinks for a second and then looks at her grinning.* Should I add a staff lounge to it like at the old temple Infirmary?

"You know the funny thing was, she didn't fool me. But Luke being the soft heart that he is, told me to give her a chance so I did.
I should have just killed her when she showed up at the temple. No questions asked. That's not very Jedi like but it would have saved us a world of hurt. I blame her for Lioness' return to the dark side and always will."
she smiles grimly. "By far, that was probably the only mission the Rowdies ever failed and as you said, we contained the damage. Mara's negotiations went through and we had peace. I never cared about my reputation anyways so it being soiled really wasn't an issue for me.
I guess my point of bringing this up is I want you to see what can go wrong too. The Rowdy mission was almost scrapped due to that mission because some of the Shadows wanted to blame me even though I rather uncharacteristically submitted a report. We need to be very careful in the future. If a Rowdy is given an impossible mission she will still try to fulfill it. We need to stand behind her as the Council and allow her to give full disclosure, even if the order comes from you or Luke and makes one or both of you look bad.
Then it needs to become a closed case with a Council public declaration that the operative was under orders and fulfilled them to the best of their ability." she smiles softly. Much as we did for Liana's unit during other less than stellar moments for the Rowdies like certain situations later with the GG."

*To Nick*
Good, then I know it will be done right. Yes, a staff lounge would be nice. Hmmm maybe we could set up a playroom like G made near the temple for recreation? Some place everyone could go to relax and let off some steam.
*To Gert*
Yes, it might have solved some problems if you had. But you couldn't attack her with no evidence that would have really tore the Order apart.
*shakes her head.*
And it would have ruined the Order's reputation.
Don't think you failed. The Order survived. And it became stronger. Even Mioti didn't blame you.
*chuckles*
What can go wrong will go wrong.
