She spends a bit of time checking out the sitting area visually. She recognizes some of the planets depicted, some she's not so sure about. Eventually boredom sets in and she slowly begins tapping her short unusually clean and white nails for her on the armrest of the chair, they make a steady clicking noise that she isn't even aware of but which is known to slowly drive some sentients batty.
The bith at the reception counter continues in their business and ignores the Kenobies, preferring to hope they will simply grow bored and leave instead of tying up it's time with paperwork and wasted time contacting secretaries to make arrangements for a meaningless meeting about a poky little school out on the edge of mid rim.

He sets the magazine down and hears the rhythmic tapping of his wife's nails on the chair....he closes his eyes and soon the cadence lulls him to sleep..... He begins to snore loudly.

The unusually tall bith grits his teeth as the sound of the female Jedi's nails tapping on the expensive wood of the reception chairs counterpoints the male Jedi's aggressive snoring. He tries desperately to ignore it but the continual tap tap tap SNOOORREEEE was driving the bith slowly mynock guano crazy.
Merk, the Chief of State's gran assistant was one of the many functionaries passing through the reception area on his way to a senator's office when he noticed the distinctive robes of two very bored looking Jedi, one of whom appeared to be deeply... meditating.
He decides to take a side trip to the counter out of curiosity. "Phy'llis, who are those Jedi waiting for?"
"No one." the bith says flatly.
"No one?" The expected explanation is clear in Merk's voice. He may be solicitous to senators and dignitaries but fellow office workers were expected to behave respectfully.
The bith sighs in a put upon way. "They requested an audience with the senate."
"For?" Merk drags the word out slightly, clearly not amused with Phy'llis' lack of regard for a social class his employer held in high esteem.
"Something about security issues at the school. I told them to have a seat until I could make a general inquiry to the Senate."
"I see. And which Jedi would they be exactly?"
The bith hands over the sign in log. Merk checks it over and raises an eyebrow. "So let me see if I'm clear, you left Master Yonsz, daughter of Corellian diplomat Frankus Yonsz and Master Pappy-Wan Kenobi, rebellion hero, both of whom are Jedi Council members just sitting in the reception area like a couple of homeless ugnauts?"
"They did not have an appointment. Rules for meeting with the Senate clearly require an appointment." the bith said defensively.
Merk just looks at him for a moment contemplating what disciplinary action ought to be recommended for self satisfied stupidity. Eventually he just shakes his head in frustration and starts to walk away.
"Did you want me to speak to them?" Phy'llis finally asked before Merk was out of ear shot.
"No, I'll take care of it myself. You've done enough." and with that Merk walks away to continue his previous assignment, tapping his communicator to Ni's office to ask her what she wants to do about this little development.
"Well he didn't have to be snotty about it." the bith mumbles under his breath before going back to his work.

He comes out of his nap and looks around. Nothing has changed....he looks over at Gert and sighs. He hates over riding her, but....and looks down at his chrono, if something doesn't happen in the next fifteen minutes then he is going to pull his ace card out and get them a meeting with the chief of state.

CZ-13 walked with a quiet clank through the Senate Building. His destination was the reception area of the building. He fussed at himself the entire way, worried over things, went over how he'd handle various ways of introducing himself and talking the Kenobis into taking a walk through the gardens to 'kill time' as Master Merk had said though z13 really did not understand how one could kill time as time was not a living thing.
He finally reached his destination, his pale metallic blue paint gleaming in the soft light of the sitting area. He bowed as deeply as he could manage to the evidently bored and somewhat annoyed Jedi. "Pardon me madam, sir, but are you Masters Kenobi?" His voice was full of fret and if it were in his programming to do so he'd have quivered with nerves.

He reaches into the folds of his robes and is about to excuse himself so he can contact the chief of state a droid appears and addresses them. Looking at Gert she defers to him to handle this...a smirk on her face. Turning towards the droid he smiles "Yes we are and I sincerely hope you are here to escort us to see the chief of state. We have some serious business to conduct with her." He turns his head slightly....is the droid fidgeting? nah he must be tired.

She looks at her husband, a mild smirk of 'I told you so' on her face. "We came to make an appointment with the Senate about security issues at the Temple but it seems you have to make an appointment to make an appointment." She grinned a little. Something about this droid reminded her of someone from her past but she couldn't quite place a finger on it.

"Er.. yes.. well..." z-13 stammered for a moment, this was not one of the conversations he'd anticipated and now felt somewhat out of his element. "I am just a protocol droid and know very little about making appointments with the Senate as I can't think of a single reason why a droid might seek their audience." He paused and fretted for a moment.
"Er... well... if you will follow me please I have been instructed to take you on a nice tour of the Senate gardens and then to a private lounge for an afternoon meal."

He turns to Gert and mouths to her "garden?" He turns back to the droid....."Well we would love to see the gardens....maybe we can get some new specimens for the ranch back on Yavin IV." He holds his hand out "Please lead on and relax we understand procedure and are not at all upset with the delay we have incurred." He turns back to Gert and winks then nods for her to join his side for the "tour"

Z13 babbles at length about the various plants and flowers, surprised really that both masters Kenobi seem genuinely interested in the information he's giving and asking well thought knowledgeable questions. "Well it's nice to give a tour where my guests actually pay attention" he beemed at them the best a protocol droid can. "Usually people's eyes glaze over after we get past the terranian tea roses."
Confused by master Gert's sideways smirk to her husband he chooses to ignore it. "Yes well, here we have the gammorian spunkt tree. As you can tell by the er... fragrance it's blooms are uniquely designed to attract carrion flies. Over here we have... oh..." a small beep emits from a transponder in the droids hand. "It seems lunch is ready. Please follow me sir, madam."
the droid clanked across the garden in the most direct route to the tea house in the north east corner. Expecting to see Merk, the COS's administrator he lets out a small oh. "M'lady. You will be joining our guests today? Lady Ni’kolis Sz’on-ya, Chief of State, may I introduce Jedi Masters Gert Yonsz Kenobi and Pappy-wan Kenobi."
"Welcome to Coruscant Master Kenobi, lady Gert. I hope your time here has been pleasant now that we've sorted out that earlier unpleasantness?"

Pappy steps forward and bows deeply.... "Greetings Chief of state, we understand completely the trappings of your position. You honor us with your valuable time." he takes a step back allowing his wife to greet the COS also.

She gives the Caamasi Chief of State a shallow court curtsy out of habit and a genuine smile as she generally likes the Caamasi and appreciates their special place in Jedi history. "Master Gert will do M'lady. I gave up any right I had to a title a very long time ago. As my husband says, we do understand the strain on your time and deeply appreciate your effort to clear your lunch time to meet with us."
She's glad some of her diplomacy has finally rubbed off on her husband who was somewhat rough around the edges from years of association with commandos and rough individuals within his spy network.

"Please, sit. Zee, please begin serving the horderves." She smiles and her eyes crinkle at the corners. "The Chief of State must also eat you know." She says dryly. "I am tired of warmed over sandwiches in my office anyways. This is as nice of a change of pace for me as it is for you. So tell me, what brings two such well esteemed Jedi all the way in from the Yavin system? It must be important, you especially Master Gert have not been seen on Coruscant since the temple was moved off planet. Well," she looks slyly at Gert. "at least not as far as we know anyways." Her eyes twinkle and she looks at Pappy, gauging his body language for confirmation of her suspicions.

He notices the COS' glance and he gives he a quick and subtle wink at her comment about Gert...she knows well about his wife's movements. As the head of the shadows he makes sure Ni’kolis knows all the whereabouts of the Jedi and his operatives. The only people that have this info besides himself and the COS is Grand Master Skywalker, this cabal allows certain privileges and protects not only the leaders but the operatives. Pappy address the COS " Chief Sz’on-ya, As you know the Jedi have availed themselves as being available to the republic as advisers and will gladly assist in any noble endeavor requested of us, But as of late much of our attention has been centered around multiple factions entering the Yavin IV system with fleets, under the impression that the Jedi have some super weapon or magical ability to wipe them out if they don't arrive via a show of force. Time after time we have told them they have nothing to fear if they come in peace. " taking a deep breath he continues. "We were wondering if you could possibly assist us in two ways. One making contact through official channels stating that Yavin IV is in Republic controlled space and any show of force will be looked at as hostile, and on point two if possible could a small fleet say of one capitol ship and three to four escort ships along with a set of interdictors could be stationed in the area. We have more than enough resources available to allow the troops some R&R time and we would be willing to expand the Tap Caf and build some entertainment facilities as well" He sits back hoping he hasn't asked to much of the COS and the republic.

Ni’kolis thinks very deeply for a long moment about Master Pappy-wan's words. Her brows furrow, troubled that the Empire would so foolishly invade Republic space, risking the tenuous at best peace that the galaxy had just for the sake of intimidating school children.
Yes, it was well known that the Jedi Council made their base of operations at the temple and it stood to reason that of course it was the most logical place for the Shadows to operate out of but in recent years, the Shadows had been tightly reigned in by the Republic and only performed duties as required by the Senate or against threats directly relating to the Jedi and their security and then only by their choice to do so, not out of requirement by order. She knew this because she had worked directly with Luke and Pappy clarifying what the Shadows were and were not entitled to do.
She knew about the Kenobi's side business to shuttle supplies to the Shadows quietly a well. She'd approved of the venture actually as it absolved the Republic of financially supporting the Jedi students.
The students. This is what bothered her most. It was one thing to threaten fully trained Jedi on their own turf. Foolish though it was in her thoughts, there was a certain bravado to doing so but endangering children regardless of what they were training to become was the height of cowardice and despicableness. This must be put to a full stop.
"I believe I can help you." She finally said. "It is not right to endanger children because of your fear of the parent but more importantly, invading Republic space is counter productive to peace. The Senate will divert a reasonable but small naval security force to enforce Republic space boundaries. All warships will be asked to leave for diplomatic reasons. Those in need of the Jedi's help should come to the Senate for council. There is no reason why they should appeal to the Council directly for military reasons." She pauses again.
"In return however, any missions taken on in the Empire must be reported to and approved by the Senate. This way if there are any.. diplomatic incidents the Senate may deal with them directly and the Jedi will not be held individually accountable for unforeseen situations." She smiled at Pappy-wan.
"Will that be satisfactory Masters Kenobi?"
